WASH Assistant: Africare Zimbabwe

Purpose
Co-ordinate with the District Water Supply and Sanitation sub-Committees (DWSSCs) to create demand for sanitation services and utilise participatory approaches to promote Zero Open Defecation (ODF) among the participating communities.
Qualifications/experience
A minimum of a diploma or first degree in health sciences preferably public health, environmental health or health promotion, social sciences or any relevant qualification, with a minimum of two (2) years WASH development experience in areas that include demand-led sanitation and borehole rehabilitation/repair. Candidate should have demonstrated ability to work with local communities, project stakeholders, including Local Government Officials and other NGO peers. Possession of clean class 3 and 4, with more than 2 years riding and driving experience is a requirement.

Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) Technical Director: John Snow, Inc. (JSI)

John Snow, Inc. (JSI) seeks a dynamic and highly experienced candidate for the Technical Director position for an anticipated USAID funded Maternal Newborn and Child Health/Family Planning (MNCH/FP) project. The project's goal is to improve maternal, youth and child health and survival in beneficiary communities and populations through a combined maternal, newborn and child health and family planning activity.
Should JSI be the successful bidder, this full-time position will be based in Harare, Zimbabwe.
Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership and supervision to all technical staff in implementing MNCH activities; Coordinate the design, implementation and scale up of MNCH interventions, ensuring global standards of excellence in health service delivery programming; Work closely with the SMT, local team, JSI HQ and USAID in ensuring that all aspects of program strategy, design, planning, implementation, and monitoring are technically sound and uphold the standards of good public health; Use knowledge of best practices in maternal, newborn, child health and quality improvement to work within JSI in strategic planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the JSI program in Zimbabwe; Serve as a key resource and provide technical input and direction to the JSI team, the MOHCC and other partners in the areas of maternal, newborn and child health to promote the use of best practices at scale.
Required qualifications
MD or Nurse Midwife with Master of Public Health and at least 10 years of clinical experience in maternal, newborn and child health and programming; At least five years’ experience working with the Zimbabwe Ministry of Health in a senior management or advisory capacity; Organizational level capacity building experience; Significant technical expertise and knowledge of major issues in MNCH, Quality Improvement and FP in low-resource settings; Strong policy and advocacy skills, good analytic ability, capacity to collect, use and present evidence to identify and solve problems with groups of decision makers and program managers; Excellent communication and presentation skills as well as strong verbal and written communications skills; Good facilitation, team building and planning skills.

Our client operates in the gold mining sector and requires a competent and experienced Underground Manager
Your duties will include
Ø Production planning and implementation to meet production targets, implementing best mining practices, enforcing and observing the mining standards & regulations and reviewing the achievement of production targets
Ø Preparing the departmental budget, scrutinising and authorizing all stores requisitions for the department, analysing cost trends and developing mechanisms to keep costs within budget
Ø Carries out site visits to problem areas underground and solve technical matters with mining and artisan team
Ø Conducting the departmental SHE meeting and following up on remedial action plans of audits, inspections, accidents, incidents that occur in the department and throughout the mine operation
Ø Mine personnel management and industrial relations enforcing discipline and carrying out performance appraisals as require including training and development by Identifying departmental training needs, recommending employees for training and monitoring training of people in the department.

Under the supervision of the Finance and Admin Officer Assistant, the Cleaner will:
Ensure that the premises are kept hygienic and clean. This includes all offices and toilets; Ensure that all necessary supplies are obtained in time, and stored safely; Ensure that all breakages are reported to the supervisor, and any maintenance needs, for example with the toilets, are reported in a timely fashion; Make tea and provide other refreshments for staff and visitors as required; Carry out such other duties as may be assigned
