Main duties and responsibilities
Carry out legal research, litigation and advocacy work on various projects that will be implemented by the organisation; Conduct community rights and legal training workshops; Offers legal advice to community based organisations and activists; Litigates on environmental, economic, social and cultural rights; Undertakes conflict resolution activities whenever the need arises; Undertakes legal and policy research; Compiles narrative project reports; Drafts legal contracts for service providers, organisation policies, deeds of trust and letters to partners; Participates in the development of project proposals for the organisation; Reviews documents done by colleagues; Assists in leading and implementation of specific projects
Academic qualification and experience
LLB Honours Degree; At least 2 years working experience in any relevant field
Critical or technical competencies required
Must have experience in drafting legal briefs and litigation; Must have a thorough appreciation of legal issues related to corruption in the country; Should have knowledge of Zimbabwean law and the relevant law enforcement agencies; Should have knowledge and experience with public interest litigation; Candidates with experience in in identifying, compiling and documenting for public interest litigation are preferred; Must be able to conduct mobile legal aid clinics; Must have good interpersonal skills; Must have effective communication and presentation skills; Must be fluent in spoken and written English; Must have knowledge of at least one or more vernacular language; Must be computer literate and must be familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite of Packages and should be able to effectively use databases

RAU is seeking a temporary Programmes Coordinator for an initial 3-month period (January - March 2018). Depending on performance and funding, this contract could lead to a long-term position.
Responsibilities
The major responsibility of the incumbent is to lead the coordination of programme and operational planning; s/he will: Provide day-to-day operational guidance to office teams, ensuring the quality and timeliness completion of all programme activities and reporting; Ensure timely sharing of programme results with key stakeholders and clients and quality of information by gathering and coordinating all organisational monitoring, evaluation, learning and results reporting to assess progress towards achieving the strategic goals of the organisation; Serves as alter-ego to the Director, may serve in acting capacity for Director; and is represented on the senior management team.
In addition, during the three-month period, the candidate will prepare a realistic plan that addresses a strategic question concerning the future directions of the organisation. Specifically, the plan needs to demonstrate how the RAU research can be used to leverage greater policy impact and encourage active citizenship. The plan must include: Suggested performance objectives for advocacy; Suggest performance measures and indicators, including any available baseline data and describe organisational requirements for collecting and using the data; Describe the main illustrative activities and propose a two-year time table for their implementation; Identify needed research and human resources; Make any recommendations for revising Positions Descriptions to enable the achievement of the plan.
Qualifications
A Bachelor Degree, preferably in social or political science, and at least one advanced degree is required, preferably in management or social sciences; however, in exceptional circumstances significant programme management experience can be considered in lieu of the advanced degree; Five-to-ten years’ work experience, of which at least five must be work in a non-governmental organisations with management responsibilities, preferably in the field of democracy, governance and/or human rights; Evidence of internal controls and financial management literacy; Fluency in English and proficiency in at least one additional language is required.

Responsibilities

Qualifications and experience

The DREAMS Program core package of interventions consists of social asset building, social protection, family and caregiver skills building, community norms activities that are complemented by provision of youth friendly sexual and reproductive health services. FHI360’s primary role in the DREAMS Program is to deliver a comprehensive curriculum on HIV prevention, gender norms and community norms targeted at AGYW in school, out of school and their sexual partners at community level.
