Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Officer
A local NGO seeks to recruit a Monitoring,
Evaluation, & Learning (MEL) Officer. Under the overall guidance of the
Executive Director and direct supervision of the Programmes Coordinator, the
MEL Officer will be responsible for the monitoring and ensuring high quality and
timely inputs. The incumbent will ensure that projects maintain their strategic
vision and that activities result in the achievement of intended outputs in a
cost effective and timely manner. The MEL officer will also support the
implementation of the project learning agenda and technical support to staff to
ensure seamless integration of
MEL and contribute to the organisation’s learning strategy.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and strengthen monitoring, evaluation and learning procedures
- Monitor all project activities, expenditures and progress towards achieving the project outputs
- Develop monitoring and impact indicators for the project success;
- Monitor and evaluate overall progress on achievement of results;
- Monitor the sustainability of the project's results;
- Report monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual progress on all project activities to the Executive Director/ Programmes coordinator
- Conduct capacity assessment on existing monitoring and evaluation system
- Provide inputs, information and statistics for quarterly, annual and other reports
- Assist the Programmes coordinator in preparing relevant reports
- Assist the project personnel with M&E tools and in supporting them in their use.
- Perform other duties as required by the Executive Director/ Programmes coordinator
Required Skills and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Monitoring and Evaluation, Development Studies, Statistics or any other relevant Social Science. A relevant postgraduate qualification is an added advantage
- At least 5 years of experience in the design and implementation of MEL in development projects
- Experience in human rights and governance M and E.
- Experience in designing tools and strategies for data collection, analysis and production of reports;
- Expertise in analysing data using statistical software; - Strong training & facilitation skills.
The ideal candidate should possess the following competencies
- Must be able to take initiative in identifying improvements to existing M&E systems
- Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to build good relations both internally and externally.
- Fluency in English required (written and verbal). Knowledge of Shona and Ndebele is an asset.
- Good report writing and data analysis skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.

Program Overview
At Pacific Cigarette Company,

DanChurchAid (DCA) is an

organisations. DCA is seeking the services of a well-qualified and experienced
Finance and Administration Officer (FAO) for one of its projects to be

The FAO will be responsible for the attainment of DanChurchAid partnership’s
set objectives. He/she will be responsible for the finance, administration,
procurement and will work closely with the Head of Finance (HOF) and Programme
officers. The projects he/she will be involved with include Active Citizenship

Specific responsibilities
include
Grant management financial obligations and ensure proper support is given to HOF and programme staff; Bookkeeping and ensure all required reports are done and submitted in a timely manner; The administration of the Regional Office which includes, financial management, office management, asset management, record keeping and administrative support; Human Resources management i. e contracts management, preparation of payroll, tax computations in accordance with the country regulations; Administration and facilitation of special events registration and execution; Procurement as per organisation manual; Maintaining an overview of finances of the office and projects undertaken by the DCA Zimbabwe Office; Ensuring quality and timely submission of financial reports, audits; Monitoring projects and partners on the financial and procurement aspects; Supporting HOF and Programme staff in sustaining and developing new partnerships and funding opportunities and; Ensuring that the finances entrusted in DCA programmes and the Regional Office are used in an accountable and transparent manner.

Background to the Project
Catholic Relief Services Zimbabwe is implementing the Zimbabwe Ag Innovations Project in Murewa and Beitbridge District. The goal of the project is to enable at least 2,500 rural smallholder farmers to participate more fully in food security and agricultural economic growth activities to protect, grow their productive assets and move steadily out of poverty towards secure and prosperous agricultural livelihoods. Zimbabwe Ag Innovations Project is designed to also increase CRS impact and influence in Zimbabwe agricultural livelihoods programming focusing on Farmer Learning Centers (FLCs), improving soil fertility through Green Manure Cover Crops (GMCCs) and increasing Goat value chain productivity in the smallholder sector through adoption of improved forage and feed technologies.

Background to the Project
The USAID and PEPFAR-funded
Pathways Project uses economic strengthening, local ownership and leadership,
and gender transformation to strengthen the capacity of HIV-affected
individuals, households and communities to progress along pathways out of
poverty, along functional service referral pathways, along continuum of care
pathways to reach the targets, and along age and stage appropriate pathways
that promote positive child, adolescent, and youth health, wellbeing, and
development. Led by CRS, the Pathways Project consortium includes partners
Maestral International, International Youth Foundation (IYF) and Musasa and
resource partners (TMG, Picture Impact, Clowns without Borders) and local
implementing partners in 9 districts.

is to ensure that the database is up to date and clean all the time. The intern
will ensure that client records are filed correctly, easily retrievable and
maintain confidentiality.

utilizing databases, spreadsheets, and other software packages with speed and
accuracy; Interprets data, draws conclusions and/or identifies patterns which
support the work of others; Assist to verify, clean, analyze beneficiary
database and project generated data; Support the project staff in the
compilation of project reports; Filing of completed forms; Documenting quality
control errors and following up on their correction.
Key Working Relationships
The MEAL Intern will work
closely with the following: ICT4D and Database specialist; MEAL Officers;
Project Managers; Partner staff
Qualifications of MEAL Intern
The MEAL Intern should at
least possess the following: Working towards a degree/diploma in either Social
Science, Development Studies, Information systems management or computer
studies; Certificate or Course in social science research methods, monitoring
and evaluation, both quantitative and qualitative research methods will be an
added advantage; Understanding of MS Office suite; Intermediate knowledge of MS
Excel & Access.
