Job Summary and Key Performance Areas
Reporting to the Director, the Programme /Administrative Assistant will be responsible for:
●Serving as the initial point of contact with the Director
●Giving secretarial and support services to resource people and MEFMI staff as required during workshops
●Organising meetings for department
●Document Management; maintaining electronic and manual records
●Manning the switch board and keeping records of outgoing calls where applicable
●Editing and proof reading typed documents
●Procuring goods and services
●Capturing information into the activity database
Academic Qualifications
●Diploma in Secretarial Studies
●Five (5) Olevel passes including English,Mathematics /Accounts/Commerce
●Three (3) years experience in Secretarial and reception work
●Excellent command of English written and spoken
●Honesty and reliability
●Confidentiality and discretion

Sawmill Manager – Eastern Highlands

We invite local and external applicants to apply for this senior role which will report to the Managing Director based at their HQ.
The incumbent will be responsible for the overall operation of the sawmill. Duties will include:
Planning and (re)scheduling of production to achieve optimal utilization of saw logs and to achieve both targets and orders
Managing sawmill production operations efficiently
Recruit, utilize, develop, direct and lead the Human Resources skills for the sawmill
Control of quality of Rough Sawn Timber output to meet both quality standards and customer specifications
Budgeting and expenditure control of the sawmill
Preparing and maintaining production reports
Enforcing compliance with planned maintenance and repair of plant and equipment
Enforcing compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations and standards in the sawmill
Managing warehousing and dispatch of finished product
Overseeing outsourced sawmill operations
Requirements
An Engineering/Manufacturing degree or equivalent, plus
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in sawmilling 3 of which must be at managerial level,

Diploma in Sawmilling, plus
A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in sawmilling 5 of which must be at managerial level,

Reporting to the Executive Director, the incumbent will be responsible for developing, maintaining and growing alternative sustainable revenue streams through designing of products,marketing and managing business development activities in general and in particular, short term executive courses for participants from non-MEFMI member organisations, in the areas of MEFMI's core competencies.
Key Performance Areas
●Contributes to the MEFMI Strategy on issues pertaining to his/her areas of focus
●Develops products and reporting tools for the Business Development Unit
●Presents to and consults with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products and distribution channels
●Presents business development training and mentoring of staff
●Undertakes other duties as assignment to him/her by the Executive Director from time to time
Academic Qualifications
●At least Masters Degree in Business Administration /Economics/Finance from a recognised institution
●3-5 years experience in the field of business development
●Demonstrated excellence, understanding of and experience in a business consultancy firm environment
●Excellent facilitation and presentation skills
●Computer literacy and knowledge of different applications
●Excellent written (reporting ) and verbal skills
●Cooperation and Team spirit
●Strong interpersonal skills
●Marketing experience will be an added advantage
