Yesterday I was making 2 CVs for a couple leaving Zimbabwe for Dubai to join the couples wife brother Stewart who is now based in Dubai working for a big retail company then my mother called me and told me that our grandmother Ambuya Mutasa nee Watambwa (my late grandmother’s muroora from my mother’s side) passed away at the advanced age of 101-102, she had a blessed long life, a great successful woman, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, one of the first black women farmers with a good sharp memory who lived a great successful hard working life.
I would want to share a small life story of my late Ambuya Mutasa life who passed away yesterday on the 19th of September 2017. In the 1940’s a young couple bought a farm in Hwedza in Zviyambe, it was a new farming area for black people and this young couple Mr. & Mrs. Mutasa (both now late) then discovered that some farms around them where on sale then Mr. Mutasa decided to invite his brother in-law and his sister Mr. & Mrs. Kwedza to this new farming area and they became neighbours. Mr. & Mrs. Kwedza were my grandparents, my mother’s late parents. When my grandparents bought this farm their lives changed, they had many cattle and lots of food and they managed to educate their children to be successful professionals. This was made possible because Mr. & Mrs. Mutasa had a God given opportunity and then decided to share that opportunity with their family members and a generational change was achieved.
This vision of uplifting our siblings produces a positive generational family change, my grandparents were great people who managed to make a generational change in their families. Once God opens a door for you, don’t enjoy your new life by yourself or with your new found wife always uplift your brother, sisters and your in-laws and make a generational change which will continue to be felt after you have long gone. RIP Ambuya Mutasa your hardwork and love produced fruits that will last forever.
Back to the Dubai story, Stewart was my client in 2015, a fresh graduate in 2015 with a retail management degree, he went to Dubai funded by his sister and her husband who managed to raise 3000 dollars for his 3 month job hunting trip in Dubai on a visitor’s visa and he was lucky to find a good job in a big retail chain in Dubai UAE. When Stewart got a good job he never forgot to assist his family, he continued to support his sibling’s educational costs and recently he sent two air tickets for his sister and her husband to join him in Dubai. When God opens a door for you please note that door is not for you only and your immediate family but a gateway for you to uplift your family members so that the next generation of your family will be great, educated and wealthy.
