Professional Photographer: UZ-UCSF/I-TECH

Purpose of assignment
I-TECH would like to engage a professional documentary photographer to provide high quality, high-resolution digital images of the program work being done towards care and treatment of people living with HIV in Zimbabwe. Images will be used for photographic support for communication and education materials.
Task to be performed
The consultant photographer will provide professional quality digital coverage of I-TECH-supported projects, including healthcare delivery, mentoring activities, and community activities related to HIV treatment and care services; The consultant will take guidance prior to and during each shoot from an I-TECH staff member accompanying and leading the shoot. The consultant may also receive guidance from I-TECH on subject matter coverage: communicating with photographic subjects, putting them at ease, encouraging them and directing them; arranging still life objects, products, scenes, props and backgrounds; All images captured during a shoot will have non-exclusive concomitant world rights in all media in perpetuity
Deliverables
Submit an "image bank" of photos as determined by the short list provided; Each image should be captioned appropriately and the caption along with photo credits will be embedded in the Jpeg (photo) file; A complete collection of images after each shoot with embedded captions and photo credits should be handed to I-TECH in properly titled CD/DVD or thumb drive.
Estimated duration of contract
Schedule to be worked out once permissions have been received, it is expected that shooting will take place over the course of 4-6 weeks beginning as soon as possible.
Cost
The consultant photographer should submit quotations for the job that will be done 4- 6 weeks.

Qualifications or Specialized Knowledge/Experience Required
Expertise in digital documentary photography, reportage/photojournalism and portraiture; Extensive experience in professional documentary photography covering social, humanitarian and development subjects within Zimbabwe; Skills to produce field pictures in a challenging environment; Ability to write good captions in English; Previous work experience with NGOs is desirable.
