UZ-UCSF/I-TECH
VACANT POST: FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION MANAGER
Background: UZ-UCSF Collaborative Research Programme on behalf of I-TECH is seeking suitably trained and qualified applicants to fill the position of Finance and Administration Manager. The International Training and Education Center for Health (I-TECH) is collaboration between the University of Washington and the University of California, San Francisco. I-TECH's activities occur primarily in the technical areas of health system strengthening; health workforce development; operations research and evaluation; prevention, care and treatment of infectious diseases.
Responsibilities: • Oversee the financial management system ensuring that it is consistent with sound accounting principles, funding agency requirements and CTU internal control procedures. • Ensure that documentation is in order for University of Washington spot audits by I-TECH Contracts Manager and CDC. • Ensure that financial management analysis and reports are developed as needed to provide reports for management decisions. • Provide supervision and oversight to Sub-Award Managers, Program Assistants and Operations Manager. • Keep the I-TECH Country Director and the CTU Administrator informed about relevant budgetary, financial and administrative developments and status of payments from funding agencies.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience- Degree in Accountancy / CIS /CIMA /ACCA / CA (Z). • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position that integrates excellence in accounting with overall administrative leadership (including operations, HR, and IT in addition to finance). • Leadership qualities, ability to work in a team and multi task. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal & written) • Excellent organizational, planning and analytical skills • Excellent Computer skills and applications including MS Office, PowerPoint and Excel. Position: Head of Mechanical

Reporting: The position will report to the Maintenance Manager
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Ensure good working conditions, safety at work, compliance with the Company Health and Safety Management System and applicable statutory instruments and Acts of Parliament
• Ensure compliance with applicable Environmental Management System in Section
• Execution and quality of maintenance work to be carried out on Mechanical equipment in line with budget and deadlines
• Contribute to the development of working methods and definition of procedures for use in his field
• Optimize maintenance operations to maximize equipment availability
• Ensure day to day scheduling of works and related resources
• Ensure completion of major operations within schedule
• Provide reporting on repair jobs including consumption of materials, specific tools, man hours and skills and fill equipment history files
• Participate in mid-term investment planning
• Manage his team, define missions and objectives, carry out performance reviews, promote quality of work, motivate his personnel, facilitate communication and relations with the Maintenance department and Plant team
• Ensure on-going skills enhancement of his employees, helping the development and implementation of training plans
• Define his section’s needs for budgeting and get them approved by his manager
• Keep himself/herself informed of general plant practices so as to ensure effective performance of “on-call” duty
• Ensure and controls quality of maintenance jobs from subcontractors
Educational Background and Experience
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• At least 7 years’ experience as a Methods Engineer/Mechanical Engineer
• At least 5 years’ experience in Cement or Heavy Industry as a Mechanical Engineer / Methods Engineer
