Epidemiologist (AIDS and TB UNIT): ICAP at Columbia University

ICAP at Columbia University works in partnership with the
Ministry of Health and Child Care (MOHCC) in Zimbabwe to support the
implementation of high-quality and comprehensive HIV/AIDS Prevention, Care and
Treatment Programmes.
Reporting to the Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator, the
Epidemiologist, will support the implementation of high-quality comprehensive
and robust HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment programmes in Zimbabwe through
the implementation of science & knowledge management activities, for the
MOHCC HIV/AIDS and TB programmes.
Major responsibilities
The roles and responsibilities for the Epidemiologist shall include, but are not limited to the following: Oversee the development and implementation of integrated HIV/AIDS/STI/TB surveillance systems in Zimbabwe; Education
MBChB or a degree in a health-related field and Master’s degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics or Health Informatics

Experience and skills
At least seven years of experience in designing and implementing surveillance, surveys and evaluation activities, with reputable international organizations in the area of HIV/AIDS; Strong quantitative data management and analysis skills including demonstrated experience with statistical analysis using such programs as Epi info, Stella, SAS, SPSS & STATA; Experience conducting qualitative data collection (i.e., key informant interviews) and analyses using Computer Aided Qualitative Data Analysis Software packages; Experience with electronic data collection tools such as Survey CTO, DHIS 2 and ePMS; Good written and verbal communications skills in English; ability to interact professionally in English; Strong organizational and project management skills; Sound knowledge of the national MOHCC systems and procedures

experience for senior processor experience, computer literate, English
proficiency, SHEQ management systems, experience with PGM Smelter an added
advantage

JUNIOR PROCESSOR/ FURNACE ATTENDANTS-
the role is responsible to carry out various smelter tasks as directed by the
shift foreman- carry out paste measurements for the furnace, performing furnace
sounding to determine slag and matte levels, 5 O levels, 5 years smelter
experience for senior processor experience, computer literate, English
proficiency, SHEQ management systems, experience with PGM Smelter an added
advantage
12.
JUNIOR PROCESSOR/ DRYER
ATTTENDANT- the role is responsible to operate a flash dryer plant. Flash dryer
is used to dry concentrates TO>0.5% moisture- 5 O levels, 5 years smelter
experience for senior processor experience, computer literate, English
proficiency, SHEQ management systems, experience with PGM Smelter an added
advantage
