A dynamic local NGO involved in advocacy work seeks to recruit a
Program Assistant. We seek an all-rounder, talented individual with a unique
skill set around monitoring and evaluation, communications and project planning
and management. The individual must be a keen learner and capable of strong
leadership thought in advocacy and human rights work. We seek a self-starter
who is innovative and works hard to deliver on set goals. This is not an
opportunity for chancers!
Key responsibilities
Main contact person during the absence of project officers; Coordinates the production, translation, proofreading and editing of documents as required; Performs other related duties in accordance with instructions from team members and leaders; Liaises with members, stakeholders and officers of other host organizations to coordinate logistical arrangements for workshops, meetings and conferences that take place in different provinces or locations; Prepares for training workshops; Writing reports and assisting with monitoring and evaluation; Carry out outreaches in communities and other community based activities: Networking and liaison with community stakeholders

Experience and qualifications
Ability to cross-cut and benefit M and E, Communications and programming; Strong communication skills a must; A social science degree, and an M and E qualification will be an added advantage; Must have strong report writing and programming skills; Proven ability to innovate, package ideas and leading new ideas

A dynamic local NGO involved in advocacy work seeks to recruit a
Legal Researcher. We seek a legal practitioner skilled in legal research with
experience in human rights work. The individual must be a keen learner and
capable of strong leadership thought in advocacy and human rights work. We seek
a self-starter who is innovative and works hard to deliver on set goals. This
is not an opportunity for chancers!
Key
responsibilities
Research on various laws and policies including those which advance constitutional rights, a just and fair administration, access to justice, access to information, civil and political rights and economic and social rights; Research on local and international human rights obligations and duties in order to support legislative and policy submissions, litigation and/or advocacy efforts; Research and administrative support on special projects and strategic interventions;
Assistance with preparing reports; Prepare submissions to policy makers; Undertake human rights related litigation

Law degree; At least one (1) years' work experience including familiarity with research and writing; An LLM or Master's degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage; Proactive attitude, with enthusiasm for human rights work; Ability to work closely with diverse group of professionals and different departments; Excellent administrative and file management skills; Ability to adapt in a fast changing environment; Preferably fluency in at least one African language; Excellent computer literacy skills

Background
The Agri-Fin approach works with partners to build sustainable models, where farm and crop management tools and financial services are "bundled" on affordable, unified platforms on mobile phone channels to promote mass uptake in a commercially sustainable manner. The project targets partners with existing financial, MNO and agricultural technical service mobile platforms or applications, or demonstrated interests in developing and investing in them, and facilitates development of a business model whereby the bundling process provides an increased value proposition for each partner, such as, increased fee income, greater outreach or reduced risks. The overall goal is that smallholder farmers (SHFs) increase and stabilize their incomes and manage their production cycle in a more effective way. This will contribute to improved livelihoods and increased food security at household and systems levels.

Scope of work

The primary role of the M&E consultant will be to: Coordinate client feedback sessions periodically and producing periodic reports; Gather stories from the field, which includes taking, editing and posting photos; Support the project on documenting, organizing and capturing progress and lessons learnt; Draft and disseminate communications materials e.g website stories, multi-media, presentations, newsletters; Collect and prepare success stories for circulation among stakeholders; Pitch potential stories or identify gaps in content based on field work and research
