Field Officer: Local NGO

A Christian based Non-Government Organisation seeks to recruit a Field Officer who will be contracted for a period of 12 months (renewable based on funding and performance) for a project which is being implemented in Gokwe, working towards the eradication of poverty and improvement of health for communities. The project seeks to contribute towards improving health, reducing poverty and food insecurity by strengthening the livelihoods and improving the water sources for disadvantaged people in Gokwe.

Job description
Roles are to provide extension support to specific communities targeted in projects being executed in Gokwe and to monitor project interventions according to project objectives and guidelines for both WASH and Livelihoods activities. This includes assisting communities in the identification of project beneficiaries, on and off site trainings, conducting field demonstrations, data collection and intensive follow up on all project activities of WASH and livelihoods. There is need to have an understanding of child protection and disability inclusion.

Qualifications, abilities, skills and experience
The position requires a highly motivated person with the following attributes: Minimum of a university degree/diploma in Agriculture/Environmental sciences or equivalent from a recognized institution; Training in Agriculture, WASH and Environmental Management; A minimum of three years relevant experience; Knowledge in market linkages and value addition; Experience in community mobilization, community trainings, agronomy and livestock management; Self starter and able to work with minimum supervision; Vast knowledge of key issues and trends in WASH, Food Security and Livelihoods; Willingness to learn new ideas; Excellent command of the most common methodologies for identifying, assessing and monitoring of income generating projects (IGPs), with proven record of achievements; Knowledge of Child Protection and Disability Inclusion will be an added advantage; Ability to ride a motorbike with a clean class three (3) is a must; Excellent interpersonal and motivational skills; Evidence of maturity and experience of working in rural communities in development programmes; Proven record in provision of trainings; Ability to use standard computer programs

International Finance Officer: Practical Action

Responsible for Africa-based Regional and Country Offices but also provides support to Asia and Latin America.

Candidates should have a Degree in Finance or an equivalent professional accounting part qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), at least 4 years’ experience working effectively in different cultures, preferably gained in an International Development Organisation, sound knowledge in using SUN systems and vision excel / Q&A and relevant financial management experience.

The purpose of the role is to support Regional and Country Offices (RCOs) with the basic use of finance systems, operationalizing group core finance processes, book keeping, equipping RCOs to meet donor requirements, supporting the effective application of financial controls and delivering capacity building in designated areas. The role is an integral part of the risk and assurance framework for finance and is expected to contribute to reporting and finding solutions to areas of financial risk and assurance.

The successful candidate will report to the Group Human Resources Executive. The role is based at Head Office and Factory sites.

A Registered Nurse currently working outside a medical institution with commercial experience is required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Group wellness program planning and execution.
2. Occupational health standards deployment as relevant to Food Manufacturing requirements.
3. Promotion of health and good working conditions.
4. Attendance to occupational injuries.
5. Occupational disaster preparedness and outbreak control.
6. Co-ordination of occupational health activities across the Group.
7. Patient hospital and home visits.
8. Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
9. Refers patient cases to the company doctor, specialists and/or hospitals for patient management.
10. Participates in Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) related activities.
11. Facilitates periodic pre-and post-employment medical exams.
12. Participates in HIV/AIDS awareness prevention and management programmes.
13. Maintains patient medical history.
14. Accountable for all clinic consumables (includes stock management).
15. Provide appropriate counselling for patients and ensures referrals as need be.

REQUIREMENTS
1. At least eight years’ experience gained in a manufacturing environment.
2. Registered General Nurse.
3. Must be in possession of a current practising certificate.
4. Must be registered with the Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe.
5. OSHEMAC 1&2 (Occupational Safety, Health and Environmental Management Course).
6. Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety an added advantage.
7. B Sc. Health Sciences will be an added advantage.
