Key job responsibilities
Provide technical support in proposal development in line with donor requirements; Identifying opportunities to solicit funding from the donor community; The role coordinates grants start up processes with respective offices to ensure smooth project start up and ensure good donor and Plan National Offices relations; Document and share key compliance issues with Plan staff and partners setting ground for compliance management; Liaise with Program Unit Managers, Technical Advisors, and support departments (Finance, HR, Admin) in designing program proposals, implementation frameworks that are in line with donor and National Offices requirements; Establish and maintain networks and partnerships with like-minded organizations

Entry qualifications and experience
 A degree in Development Studies or Business Studies; A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role in the NGO sector or with Multi-lateral/ Bi-lateral funding organizations; Knowledge of strategic planning processes and theories of child-rights programming; Knowledge of development issues, trends, challenges and opportunities and implications to community; Proven ability to develop and write grant proposals and concepts and track record in winning proposals; Demonstrated experience in designing health related programs (malaria, ASRH, WASH, MNCH and nutrition among others)

Under the Green Society programme Hivos is supporting the UN SE4ALL initiative which was launched in 2011 by the UN General Secretary. In Hivos the project is focusing on supporting CSOs (energy and non- energy CSOs) participation in the SE4ALL initiative processes which include the Action Agenda and the Investment Prospectus and the attainment of the SE4ALL 3 objectives. The Junior Program Officer will work under the supervision of the Project Manager for the SE4ALL initiative. Functional context To contribute to the production of specific articles, publications and any other documentation that influence accelerated implementation of SE4ALL; Assist in planning and organizing policy dialogues under SE4ALL; Engages in public relations and networking to identify synergies and strengthen existing partnerships in the region for effective implementation of SE4ALL; Work closely with Civil Society Organizations in adopting the SE4ALL initiative; Follow key policy dialogues at local, regional and international level; Plan and schedule project timelines; Provide support to the whole Green society team in the region especially on policy issues; Establish annual SE4ALL Advocacy events; Compiling monthly, quarterly and annual energy advocacy reports; Identifies and participates in relevant local and international seminars, conferences related to SE4ALL and energy access as representative of Hivos; Assist the Hub in Leading Advocacy for SE4ALL; Assist in preparing project reports (financial and narrative) Qualifications At least a University Degree in Development Studies, Policy Studies, Psychology, Environmental Studies, Energy or equivalent; At least 3 years working on environment, climate change, energy and policy issues; Familiar with the current International, Regional and National Energy and Environment Initiatives; Advocacy and lobbying experience; Flexible and innovative; Ability to work under pressure; Excellent writing and communication skills; Fluent in English Hivos offers a challenging position in an international environment. Practical Action, part of an international technology development organisation head quartered in the United Kingdom and with offices in East Africa, Latin America and South Asia, is recruiting a Project Accountant for Sustainable Energy for Rural Communities (SE4RC) to be based in Harare. Candidates must have a minimum of a Higher National Diploma in Accounting and Part Qualified Accountant or Management Accountant. Candidates should possess practical skills in use of SUN systems and Vision/Q&A, strong knowledge and experience of all core financial administration activities including accounts payable, cash management, budget development, statutory requirements and standard accounts. Experience in preparing financial and/ or management accounts and conducting partner monitoring and reviews, including but not limited to voucher reviews is a must. Prior experience as Grant officer/Project Accountant is an advantage. MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To assess loan applications, recommend for approval, ensure that customers are properly educated before they sign the loan agreement and general customer relations management.

SCOPE OF THE JOB

MAIN DUTIES

Appraise loans applications – analyse submitted information and documents to determine extent to which they meet eligibility criteria
Explaining to prospective borrowers the application process, requirements and terms of loan(s)
Processing loan applications for qualifying customers
Submitting loan applications to supervisor for approval
Preparation of loans agreements
Handling customer complaints and taking appropriate action to resolve them
Portfolio Administration - ensure loaned funds are paid timorously, adherence to set limits, and internal controls are not compromised
Business development and market share growth - identify and develop new products and markets for the Institution
Manage business relations with customers
Submitting weekly reports concerning operations.

The main purpose of the job is

Implementation of the Credit Policy and ensuring that all Back Office credit functions are in place and functioning to optimal levels.

SCOPE OF THE JOB

Plans, develops, and organizes work programs ensuring the optimal functioning of the Back Credit Office.

KEY RESULTS AREAS

Develops procedures for functioning Back Credit Office operations.
Supervises and ensures the efficient workflow in the payments
Monitor liquidity position.

MAIN DUTIES

Plans, develops, and organizes work programs ensuring the optimal functioning of the Back Office,

Monitor the liquidity situation and propose remedial action if necessary.
Reconcile bank accounts on a regular basis,
Actively participate in developing customer payment methods.
Supervises and ensures the efficient workflow in the payments.
Monitor suspense positions and report any failure to settle payments
Loan portfolio management - Production of loans schedules - produce weekly/monthly/quarterly reports.
Oversees and coordinates needs, sets priorities and requirements in regards to Back Office operations,
Advises and receives work assignments from the Managing Director and ensures that they are completed in a professional manner and on schedule
Ensures that all Back Office activities are coordinated with relevant departments in the organization as well as with external parties.
Determines staffing levels and the organizational structure needed to effectively perform identified functions
Identify staff training and actively participates in delivering specialized training
Submission of RBZ, Credit Registry & Credit Bureaus returns.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE JOB :

Degree in accounting, banking, Finance, Business Studies/Administration, IOBZ, CIS.
2-3 years’ experience in a similar position.
