Finance Officer: Basilwizi Trust

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the above position which has arisen within Basilwizi Trust. Basilwizi is a registered NGO working for a sustainable people driven socio-economic development in the Zambezi valley. This is a one year contract with a prospect of renewal based on resource availability and individual performance.
The purpose of the position is to develop, oversee and monitor finance and administration functions for Basilwizi.
Main Duties
Develop, implement and monitor financial management systems and budgets; Oversee all financial and administration functions of Basilwizi Trust; Prepare finance and administration reports to donor partners as well as the board; Monitor and provide support on budgetary control to programs staff; Develop sound administrative procedures; Ensure compliance to the set procedures and policies for Basilwizi Trust; Lead in human resources recruitment, management and mentoring; Participate in strategic planning in key areas of Basilwizi work; Develop, implement and monitor systems that safe guard Basilwizi assets; Manage staff directly under supervision using set tools; Develop new tools to enhance Basilwizi systems to comply with internationally accepted standards; Liaise with the board treasurer as well as auditors in efficient management of Basilwizi resources
Qualifications and Experience
The successful applicant is expected to have:
A minimum of a first degree in Accounting from a reputable institution; Full CIS or ACCA in the absence of a first degree; Membership of an accounting body is a distinct advantage; Appreciation of Human resources practices; At least two years experience in a similar position with an NGO environment; Appreciation of community development and donor procedures a must have
Personal attributes
Team player and leader; Outgoing; Good communication skills; Presentable; Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines

Qualifications and experience
Executive Secretarial Diploma Training coordination experience, a distinct advantage. At least 5 ‘O’ levels (including Mathematics and English); 3 years’ experience in a similar position; Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with people at all levels; Good administrative skills and excellent Computer skills.

Position Summary
Under the direction of the District Team Leader, the relief driver shall provide a variety of transportation support to the project.
Duties and responsibilities
Convey FHI 360 staff and consultants to designated approved locations; Ensure adequate safety, cleanliness, security and maintenance of the project vehicle assigned; Ensure proper day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle through timely minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tyres, brakes, car washing, etc; Ensure availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, office directory, and necessary spare parts; Plan route and requirements by studying schedule or ad-hoc request by the office; Fulfill special request by picking up and delivering items as directed; Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and requirements
Minimum of 5 Olevels or apprentice certificate or any other equivalent certificates with a minimum of 3 years’ experience; Must be a holder of a valid defensive driving certificate and a valid driving license; Must have expert knowledge of driving rules and regulations; Experience as a driver mechanic will be an added advantage; Experience with large complex organization preferred.
