Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant
Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the District Team Leader, the M&E Assistant work to support the Nurse Tester(NT) in M&E related activities for FHI 360 Zimbabwe at district level. S/he collaborates closely with other colleagues at facility level to provide data management support
Duties and responsibilities:
• Provide assistance in M&E processes, data collection, surveys and data quality requirements at district level.
• Support in the review and checking of data generated being in line with the ZHCT M&E reporting requirements.
• Prepare, sort and check all patients’ records for verification and making sure that accurate data is being entered in the registers and DHIS2 database.
• Establish entry priorities by maintaining understanding of what data needs to be entered first
• Verify entered data by reviewing, correcting, changing or deleting entered information
• Secure entered information by performing routine data backups as required, on database and tablets and ensuring total confidentiality of patient’s information.
• Assisting NT’s in using project’s digital systems and application software
• Check completed work for accuracy, liaise with supervisor for incomplete records and make any required changes as required.
• Ensures a proper filing system for both hard and soft copies
• Respond to information access and retrieval requests from authorized members

Disaster Risk Reduction Consultant: International Rescue Committee (IRC)

Scope of Work
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is an international humanitarian organization with operations in over 40 countries worldwide. The IRC requires the services of a suitably qualified and experienced Disaster Risk Management Consultant to provide services to a consortium that is promoting resilience building for at risk communities in Nyanga and Beitbridge to target of 20,000 households. The consultant will among other things build the capacity of field staff in disaster risk management strategies and will work with consortium staff in the two districts. The consultant will work with district and DRM committees whose capacities should be built during the course of the consulting assignment.
Responsibilities
The Consultant will work closely with project staff and stakeholders based in the two districts to develop a DRM strategy for the project. S/he will also assist in developing templates and tools for developing DRM plans at district and ward levels. The consultant will also be required to maintain a database of the trained staff and stakeholders as well as a file of all planned activities. An inception report will be required as well as a final report after the training and establishment of DRM plans at all levels. The consultant will be required to oversee the development of DRM plans after the training and also provide
Skills and/or Experience
Familiar with latest developments in DRM and Civil Protection structures in place, their roles and places in DRR and resilience building; Ability to coordinate stakeholders and consortium staff in DRM and strengthening local community structures to play a pivotal role in resilience building and DRR; Past record in running resilience building projects and clear understanding of strategies and ways of implementing Community managed DRR (CBDRR); Ability to initiate and supervise resilience building efforts and related activities; Familiarity with DRR planning and issues in Zimbabwe; Experience with coordinating, planning, implementing DRM strategy as well as its M&E; Good analytical skills; Excellent networker and facilitator, who enables experts from different backgrounds, cultures, departments and institutions to successfully collaborate; Similar work experience locally and abroad; Fluent in written and spoken English and other local languages (Shona, Venda and Sotho); Good communication (in written and spoken English), interpersonal skills and organizational skills; Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary/multi-cultural team on trans-disciplinary issues; Ability to effectively work with minimum supervision; Willingness to travel frequently

Job Requirements

Job purpose
To lead in the documentation and dissemination of projects related information, contributing to visibility actions through using both electronic and print media.
Main Duties and responsibilities
Working closely with the Project officer, the Project assistant (Media, research and documentation) will to document and communicate project milestones in a systematic manner in line with the organisation’s overall strategic objectives, specifically:
Taking a leading role in the development of the project visibility strategy; Producing both informative and educative material to aid in the delivery of project outputs in the communities; Producing child friendly materials to be used in activating and motivation children’s Agency for engagement on access to identity documents in Zimbabwe; Staying in contact with and supporting network partners’ communications officers/MEAL officers to enable a systematic access to and consolidation of all lived experiences for children for possible use in the Advocacy strategy; Leading in working with Children in the Zambezi valley in understanding their plight and involving them in documenting such; Ensuring that all information from the Children is verified and conforms with national best practices in dealing with children before sharing with the wider community; Ensuring all Children and community leadership structures have timely access to relevant and usable information; Working closely with relevant government officers at district and provincial levels in executing the duties of information sharing; Ensuring that Project and the network’s work, successes and challenges are shared with the community through appropriate methods and media; Assisting the Project officer in imparting documentation skills to community focal persons and project participants; Ensuring Community focal persons are trained in ethics, guiding laws of the land and on acceptable treatment of children in all documentation; Building capacities among community members to be able to document their issues and use ICTs for publicizing their plight, achievements and aspirations; Providing regular postings for the organisation’s website as well as Face book page in consultation with the Project officer and Director; Take a lead in research and documentation of the best practices in supporting children to access identity documentation; Monitoring and producing progress reports according to agreed procedures and standards; Closely monitoring the work of Community Focal persons in the community and keeping a log of all stories received from them.
Qualification and experience
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in media studies, public relations or related discipline; At least 2 years relevant media or information management experience in a reputable organisation; Ability to converse in at least three of the following languages, Tonga, Nambiya, Ndebele, Kalanga and English will be a distinct advantage; Willingness to spend time with children in the Zambezi valley and broader Matabeleland region; No criminal record, especially on issues related to children (pre-requisite)
