Boiler Operator
Reporting to the Chief Engineer, this is a position which requires an
individual with traceable experience in the manufacturing industry.
Duties and Responsibilities
•Operate the Boiler as per the Standard Boiler Operating Procedures.
•Carry out the Boiler safety checks daily.
•Check and monitor the boiler water level in the gauge glasses provided.
•Blow down the Morbreys and check operation of the gauge glasses and boiler feed pumps and cut out systems each shift.
•Ensure that the boiler is adequately supplied with water and fuel at all times.
•Ensure the spent ash is removed from the boiler furnace and out of the boiler house.
•Ensure that the boiler water treatment chemicals are administered at the prescribed rates.
•Blow down the boiler and ensure the TDS level is always kept within the specification.
•Ensure that safety rules are adhered to in the boiler house and the required PPE is used at all times.
•Ensure that housekeeping standards are adhered to within the boiler house.
•Maintain department records.

•Daily reporting on stock status, planned shipments and durations of available stocks.
•Assist with regular port and warehouse visits to check and report on cargo operations.

•Manage Supplier relationship, escalation and resolution of any challenges.

Technical Support Engineer
(12 Months Contract – Renewable) -
At least 3 years’ experience in web applications deployment, Maintenance
and Training. Take ownership of customer issues reported and see problems
through to resolution. Research, diagnose, troubleshoot and identify solutions
to resolve customer issues. Follow standard procedures for proper escalation of
unresolved issues to the appropriate internal teams. Provide prompt and
accurate feedback to customers. Ensure proper recording and closure of all
issues. Prepare accurate and timely reports. Document knowledge in the form of
knowledge base tech notes and articles. To provide enterprise level technical
support to customers. Technical Skill Set Required: Microsoft NET technologies,
SQL Server, Java Script, IIS 7.0 and Networking Basics. Practical experience in
Windows Server, Microsoft .NET, SQL Server, IIS and networking. Experience in
providing enterprise application technical support.
Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent. Must
be available to start immediately. Basic Salary of $1450 (All Inclusive).

Construction Supervisor (Based in Harare with frequent travel to the
field – eight (8) months
Key Areas of Accountability
Provide technical support to the project and local partner staff as
required.
Assist in coordinating and cooperating with district council engineers.
Assess construction project requirements.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
A degree in Engineering or equivalent.
3 years’ experience in construction industry or any equivalent
experience.
Experience of NGO program cycle management supervising construction.
A good understanding of at least two NGO sectoral programmes.
Significant knowledge of institutions, donors, procedures and
accountability frameworks.
Ability to analyse information, evaluate options and to think and plan
strategically.
Experience in managing and developing a team and the ability to lead.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and
principles including rights-based approaches.

To conduct field work related to the Operational Research project for
“Improving protocols to initiate, resume or increase breastfeeding during
humanitarian emergencies” in collaboration with the Center for Disease Control.

Participate in the development of optimised re-lactation protocols; Participate in training on optimised re-lactation protocols; Participate in implementation of pilot optimised re-lactation protocols; Participate in field-testing of data collection tools; Initiate quantitative data collection, using tablets; Ensure quality of data collection; Ensure upload of data into server; Conduct final qualitative data collection about ORP; Coordinate with local government authorities, UN agencies and other partners in the assessment areas; Coordinate with SCI in country Nutrition Manager and with Save the Children (UK) IYCF-E Research Advisor.
