Team Leader: Save the Children

SC is inviting applications for the following position in preparation for a possible forthcoming emergency response programme in Mbire.

Key areas of accountability
Provide overall leadership for the project to Save the Children’s work in the district; Ensure clear process is place for tracking and reporting on progress against the project proposal; Maintain a clear overview of project progress to be shared with the line manager; Provide support for project, ensuring high quality with reliable data and outcomes; Coordinate the development of a technical capacity building plan for beneficiaries working with field teams to prioritise training needs and resource these appropriately; Ensure that monitoring and evaluation results are understood and used to improve programmes; Ensure documentation of case studies working with the Advisor Communications & Advocacy; Conduct regular field monitoring of activities; Comply with Save the Children policies and practice with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures; Carry out other duties as assigned by the line manager

Qualifications and experience
A degree in development studies, social science, agriculture or other relevant field preferred; or the equivalent combination of education and experience in a related area; Good theoretical and working knowledge of Cash-Based Programming; Extensive understanding of Social Safety Nets and Livelihoods;  An understanding of labour based interventions (FFA/FFW/PAC); Previous leadership experience in an NGO or other humanitarian environment, including experience in implementing emergency programmes; Familiarity with key international standards for humanitarian work (e.g, SPHERE, HAP principles, etc); Strong report writing skills; Ability and willingness to change work practices and hours; Fluency in written and spoken English  and other vernacular languages (Shona); Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches

Key areas of accountability
Work closely with communities to ensure proper targeting and registration of the communities according to set criteria; Supervise and monitor the community works; Produce reports on regular basis to the Team leader; Carry out other duties as assigned by the line manager

Qualifications and experience
A degree in economics, social science, agriculture or other relevant field preferred; or the equivalent combination of education and experience in a related area; Good theoretical and working knowledge of Cash-Based Programming; Strong understanding of humanitarian accountability principles; Experience in Project Management; Effective in written and verbal communication in English and other vernacular languages (e.g Shona)

Design, Monitoring & Evaluation Assistant: Save the Children

Key areas of accountability
Conducting designing, monitoring, evaluation activities and exit surveys for cash –based programming in liaison with team members; Ensuring impact, adequacy and accountability of the programme; Compiling weekly monitoring reports and submitting them to the Team Leader/MEAL Manager; Data capturing of all programme beneficiaries and activities; Production of beneficiary registers for the programme; Carry out other duties as assigned by the line manager

Qualifications and experience
Possession of a relevant degree in Statistics/Social Sciences or Project Planning, Computer Studies & Management; A minimum of 2 years experience in Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning of humanitarian and development projects; A minimum of 2 years experience data capturing and database usage;  Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning of cash-based programming is an added advantage; Experience using MS Access or other relational database management systems; Strong understanding of humanitarian accountability principles; Effective in written and verbal communication in English and other vernacular languages (e.g Shona)

Qualifications and experience
At least 5 ‘O’ levels including English; Minimum of 3 years data collection experience
Experience in using android smart phone; Courteous and able to establish good rapport with the respondents; Strong understanding of humanitarian accountability principles; Good theoretical and working knowledge of Cash-Based Programming; Fluency in written and spoken English and other vernacular languages (Shona)

Qualifications and experience
At least 5 ‘O’ levels including English; Clean Class 4 drivers Licence; Defensive driving certificate will be an added advantage; Minimum of 5 years’ driving experience in rough terrain; Strong understanding of humanitarian accountability principles; Fluency in written and spoken English and other vernacular languages (Shona)
