Gender and Development Officer: Caritas Zimbabwe Diocese of Mutare

Caritas Zimbabwe Mutare (PVO No 25/2014) is the official humanitarian, relief and development arm of the Catholic Church in Mutare Diocese. It is one of the nine members of the Caritas Zimbabwe network which operates under the auspices of the Zimbabwe Catholic Bishops Conference (ZCBC). Caritas Mutare was established in 1953 and entrusted in the care of the Carmelite Fathers of the Irish Province. Its offices were opened in 1976 as the National Commission for Social Services and Development (CSSD). Guided by the social teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, Caritas Zimbabwe (Mutare) thrives to promote food security, social protection, environmental management, water and sanitation for the vulnerable men, women, boys and girls in a sustainable manner within the diocese of Mutare.
Caritas Zimbabwe Mutare offers an equal opportunities and we are urgently recruiting suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacancy of a Gender and Development Officer. A project supported by the by MISEREOR in Chimanimani district. This is a one year contract. S/he will interact with other development partners and Government line ministries in order to meet donor requirements for the Project. S/he will be responsible for ensuring the programme deliverables meet the government standards. As the technical focal point person s/he will network with different stakeholders for the project.
Job summary
Knowledge, skills and behaviours required in achieving role’s objectives; Degree or Diploma in Gender studies; Minimum of 3 years extensive experience in development work at grassroots level; Experience in HIV and AIDS programming will be an added advantage; Computer literacy in Excel and Word; A valid class 4 licence and ability to ride is an added advantage; Ability to work with teams and coordinate with key development stakeholders; Fluent in English and local languages; Excellent networking and partnership building skills; Proficient in computer skills and use of relevant software and other applications

District Behavioural Change Programme Support officer: ZiCHIRe

Duties and responsibilities

Qualifications and experience
Degree in an area related to programme management Social Sciences, Public Health or equivalent. Master’s degree will be an added advantage; Experience in HIV and AIDS programming working, Public Health or Health Promotion; Sound knowledge and understanding of latest developments in the area of HIV prevention programming; Experience in multi-sectoral development approaches; Experience and ability to interact with district leadership; Hands on experience working with district and ward structure an added advantage; Knowledge of basic accounting and administration; Computer skills; Driver’s licence an added advantage

The person will provide services related to computer and network management, software development and database administration. Qualifications and requirements

Inventory Controller
Our Client in the Engineering and Mining Sector is urgently looking for an Inventory Controller.
The role
The inventory controller will be the representative to all mine sites in Zimbabwe, ensuring that all client requirements are met timeously.
The incumbent is expected to have a strong data analytical background with a good appreciation of numbers.
Key Skills/Competencies
The various duties are, among other things:
• Data Analysis and Reporting - Inventory optimisation, continuous system reviews, inventory health checks and critical point monitoring
• Customer Interface - Attend to ALL internal and external customer spares/parts requirements
• Project Management - Phasing out of superseded items and the introduction of new items for equipment and technologies.
• Supervision - Manage, supervise and train/develop staff in the department.
• Decision Making - Ability to think on feet and make decisions from interpreted data and focus trends.
Qualifications
The inventory controller is expected to have a University degree in an analytical biased field such as,
• Economics, Accounting, Project Management and or Engineering
plus;
• A clean class 4 driver’s licence plus valid defensive driving licence.
• Police clearance.
Experience
The inventory controller is expected to have a minimum of 4 years working experience with hands on exposure in Accounting/Inventory ERP systems in either of the following areas;
• Banking

• Project Management

Location

Qualifications and attributes
BSc Counselling degree/Social Science degree; BSC Nursing Science or Diploma in Nursing is an added advantage; Experience in Counselling, at least 3 years in HIV related field is an added advantage; Certificate in Systemic Counselling (CONNECT); Professional background: Teaching/social work/nursing; Ability to observe code of counseling ethics; Experience working with adolescents/young adults in some capacity; Ability to establish rapport with young women.

Conduct Pre and Post test counseling before and after an HIV Test; Administer Risk Reduction counseling; Conduct Supportive and Follow up counseling sessions; Facilitating support group meetings; Administer adherence counseling to participants; Screening Participants basing on the inclusion and exclusion criteria; Obtaining informed consent; Obtaining and updating locator information for participants; Accurate documentation of study procedures; Check all client data before data faxing; Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team; Ability to maintain confidentiality within the organization; Refer participants to other resource centers when necessary.

Finance and Administration Officer: Local Youth NGO

A growing youth-focused NGO is looking for a solid professional to fill the vacancy of Finance and Administration Officer. Based in Chitungwuza and reporting to the Director, the incumbent will be responsible for operationalising the organization’s (i) financial management, (ii) administration and (iii) human resources policies.
Duties and responsibilities
Financial Management
Preparing organizational and project budgets for projects and budgetary control, i.e. ensuring expenditure is compliant to budgets; Providing financial advice/guidance to the Director to ensure that strategic decisions with a financial implication are sound; Ensure all financial transactions strictly comply with organization policies and with donor contracts/agreements, guidelines and regulations; Training/inducting staff on the organization’s finance, administration and human resources policies, donor contracts/agreements, guidelines and regulations to ensure that their conduct guarantees compliance at all times; Prepare for annual external audits and respond to international auditors if required; Reporting to the board on financial, human resources and administration.
Accounting
Cash management; supervising the Petty Cashier and ensuring that all petty cash transactions comply with the organization’s cash management policy; Ensure that all financial records are complete, up to date and filed systematically; Accurately enter all daily transactions into the books of accounts, using Pastel and produce relevant reports, present these to the board for review and approval; Manage bank accounts and prepare periodic reconciliation statements; Scrutinize and release all requisitions for authorization by the Director in accordance with organization’s financial management policies and established approval levels; Process payroll, calculate and remit tax and other statutory obligations; ZIMRA, NSSA, and complete necessary returns; Management of debtors, creditors and reimbursements of employee expenses and ensuring timely payment to all creditors; Prepare monthly financial reports of each project for Director, Management Board and Board of Trustees; Perform month-end closing and year-end duties such as reconciliations, VAT reconciliations, PAYE returns, inventory lists, etc; Responsible for procurement activities in accordance with organization’s procurement policy; Provide assistance to program staff and project budget preparation; Responsible for consolidating all the programs and operational transactions for specific donors, for annual reports and for sharing with relevant stakeholders.
Administration & Human Resources
Manage the centre’s operations; logistics, security, IT, records management; Ensure registration requirements with various authorities are kept current at all times and files statutory returns and renewals; Manage leases to make sure they are current and amendments are processed as required; Maintain asset registers, conducting regular stock control and update accounting records accordingly; Maintain personnel files and payroll administration using Belina Time Systems; Ensure all IT equipment is properly functioning, including security of information, backups etc; Maintain finance and administration files; Carry out any other tasks as assigned by the Director; Handling labour relations issues of the organization.
Qualifications, skills and competences required
Minimum professional qualifications; CIS, CIMA, SAAA, IAC; At least 8 years of working experience, at least 3 of which must be in NGO environment; Demonstrable familiarity and experience with donor regulations; Thorough knowledge of and experience with Pastel Accounting Software and Quick Books; Experience with Human Resources management; Ability to present financial reports (orally and in writing)
