These positions will assist the
IETC Outgrowers team who have been working with partnering organizations in the
Livelihoods and Food Security Program (LFSP) introducing sesame into various
areas in Mashonaland West, Central and Midlands.
The assignment will consist of
providing administrative and clerical assistance to Procurement Officers and
Field Extension Staff at mobile procurement points and rural depots.
Interns will be required to
undergo extensive travel throughout the internship period and work in the rural
areas where we will have central depots and assist with mobile buying points
that will cater to our widespread farming communities.
Due to the heavy amount of
projected farmer traffic during this seasons sesame procurement it is vital for
the interns to have a possess good arithmetic, clerical skills with agronomic
training being of benefit.
Ideal candidates would be
students studying procurement/purchase and supply related degrees. Or recent
graduates of such degrees.

Southern Africa Workcamps Association is a non profit, non governmental organisation, which encompass workcamps and voluntary movements from Southern Africa and it is affiliated to the Coordinating Committee For International Voluntary Services which is a sub sector or the UNESCO/Paris. It was founded to promote south-south cooperation as well as regional integration and exchange.
The Innovation, Research,
Communication and Fundraising Assistant Officer will contribute to Southern
Africa Workcamps Cooperation’s work through research and documentation,
resource mobilization. The ideal candidate will be specifically involved in
editing the regional online newsletter, SAWC social media presence on various
social media platforms. In addition to creating content, the officer will work
with the SAWC management team to identify and respond to opportunities for
funding. S/He will learn from other staff members to perform duties. The
position is voluntary and candidate works at SAWC Head Offices in Maseru
Lesotho.
Responsibilities
Lead the development of a communication strategy for SAWC on its work with children to partners, donors, host communities and local authorities; Developing IEC materials and coming up with new innovative strategies disseminate information on regional and international voluntary services and showcase the work of SAWC to key stakeholders; Provide support for regional integration as well as monitoring and evaluation member organisation; Develop Webpage for Southern Africa Workcamps Cooperation; Writing and management, social media support, website updates, blog, and drafting and editing and lay out of written materials; Research, identify, and draft funding proposals to donors in liaison with other stakeholders; Build capacity of SAWC staff in proposal and report writing and resource mobilization

Desired skills and experience
Bachelor’s degree in social science (communication or media studies preferred); Minimum one year experience in communications, editing communication content including writing compelling stories; Experience in grant writing and resource mobilization; Strong negotiation skills with experience in influencing, creativity, innovativeness, and entrepreneurial thinking; Proficient user of Microsoft Word Suite (including Excel, Word, Publisher); Adept at using social media platforms (e.g. Face book, Twitter etc.); Strong oral and written English language skills; Ability to work independently

Job summary
Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the Field Monitor will facilitate and lead implementation of agricultural interventions in the community. Incumbent will keep accurate records of the project, compile and submit daily and monthly reports. The job holder will be responsible for registrations of beneficiaries and supervision of workers as in line with donor requirements.

Computer literacy in Excel and Word; A valid class 3 or 4 licence and ability to ride is an added advantage; Ability to work with teams and coordinate with key development stakeholders; Fluent in English and local languages; Excellent report & proposal writing skills; Excellent networking and partnership building skills; Research, analytical and problem solving skills; Proficient in computer skills and use of relevant software and other applications
