Social Worker: SOS Children's Villages Association of Zimbabwe

SOS Children's Villages Zimbabwe is a member of SOS Children's Villages International - a worldwide children's social welfare organisation, providing vulnerable children without homes with a family and educational opportunities as well strengthening families to reduce poverty

SOS Children's Villages Zimbabwe has established Community Outreach Programmes near its three Villages around the country. The Programme aims to assist and support children in difficult circumstances, in particular, families headed by a child, a grandparent or by a single parent who is terminally ill. The Organisation works as a development partner with communities and local authorities.

We seek a vibrant and results oriented individual to take up this important position. The successful candidate will report directly to the Family Based Care-Coordinator.

Responsibilities, duties and tasks
Ensures newly admitted children have relevant documents such as court orders, probation officer’s report, medical report, police report, assisted medical treatment order, birth certificate; Develops care plan action, with the child’s SOS Mother and other co-workers to meet the needs of the child and to guide the child to become a well-balanced individual; Prepares children and youth for smooth discharge and departure from the village; Provides psycho-social support for children and families in the programme; Ensures children in the programme have access to life skills and recreational activities; Organizes psycho-social support and life skill camps/sessions/workshops for children; Train co-workers and caregivers in parenting skills and residential care standards; Liaises with the Department of social welfare and other child welfare organizations on referral cases; Produces quality child and facility sponsorship photos; Writes quality facility and End of year sponsorship reports; Timeously respond to sponsorship queries

The Ideal Candidate should have
A Degree in Social work; Be committed to the mission, vision and values of SOS Children Villages Zimbabwe; Have courage to stand up for children’s rights and protection; Have hands on experience in working with children from various backgrounds and difficult circumstances; Be a very good communicator who can effectively communicate with children and young Adults; Have excellent repot writing skills and be able to operate in a highly confidential environment; Strong analytical skills and a good team player

Experience
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Social work

Applications are invited from suitable and qualified candidates to fill the position of Data Officer that has arisen within the Manicaland HIV/STD Prevention Project: The position’s work area will be in Mutasa District and partly in Harare on a contract bases with a possibility of extension.

Duties and responsibilities
Developing and maintaining Project’s Databases; To design data queries to extract information from the database and perform preliminary analysis for research purposes and for local partners as and when requested by Management; Provide Full Technical support Data Collection using Android based Smart-Phones; Perform Preliminary Investigation and Data Analysis as per request from Principal investigator; Ensure Data Security Consistency and perform Data Cleaning to ensure Data reliability; To work with project scientists to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations; to make changes to computer database, test and implement the database applying knowledge of database management systems; Provide complete IT support, including planning, network design, software and hardware configuration, user training and help desk services; Administer and maintain computer hardware and software, Network and Internet Support; Coordinate testing, upgrade and configuration of system files/, Smart Phones and services; Ensure changes are in accordance with appropriate operating procedures; Design IT-policies & procedures including mapping operational Procedures for data collection using Smart-Phone/DA; Assist and coordinate in data cleaning to ensure a consistent and close to ideal data set

Qualifications and experience
B.Sc. in Computer Science/ or Management Information Systems or equivalent; At least three (3) years working experience in database administration; At least three (5) years working experience in programming; Experience in data collection and analysis via quantitative and qualitative tools surveys preferred; Sound knowledge of hierarchical and Relational Databases – MSSQL and MYSQL; Statistical Data Analysis using Stata; Programming in; Visual C#.NET, VB.NET, VB 6.0, Stata, ASP.NET, PHP and VB Script; Mobile Data Collection in Epicollect-plus for Android. ODK for Android; Familiar with IDEs Ms Visual Studio Developer 2010; MS SQL Management Studio; Eclipse for Android Apps in JAVA; MS Business Intelligence Development Studio; Expert in Database Development (Transact-SQL Programming), Analysis and Maintenance; Administration of Servers and workstations and implementation of security.

Program Intern: The Organisation for Public Health Interventions and Development (OPHID)

The Organisation for Public Health Interventions and Development (OPHID) develops and implements innovative approaches and strategies to strengthen HIV Care and Treatment services in Zimbabwe by providing enhanced access for communities to comprehensive HIV prevention, care and treatment. OPHID Trust, through the FACE Consortium, works with the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MOHCC) in implementing these interventions. OPHID Trust is currently in the final year of a 5 year United States President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief funded project through USAID. Implementing partners of the FACE Consortium are Kapnek Trust and Zimbabwe AIDS Prevention Project Trust (ZAPPT). OPHID Trust is looking for a suitably qualified and motivated individual to be enrolled into the Programs Internship program.

Overall responsibility
The Program-Intern is responsible for supporting the Programs Team (Director of Programs, Policy Advocacy and Communication Manager, and Program Manager) with the planning, implementation and monitoring of OPHID program activities.

Under the guidance of the assigned managers, the Programs-Intern will provide administrative and logistical support for projects and components of the FACE-HIV program. The Programs-Intern will support with writing routine reports and correspondence, as well as assist with the development of project/program materials The Programs-Intern will assist by maintaining calendars, receiving and composing communications as needed, and support with preparations, scheduling, logistics, and other various requirements for travel. He/She will assist with organizing meetings and events, as well as working with and maintaining data management and filing for projects/program. With direction from assigned managers, he/she will liaise and communicates with project consultants and field office staff. The Programs- Intern will be assigned small research or design projects to support to one or more staff members regarding project and programmatic efforts.

Main responsibilities

Prepare outline for and support the annual revenue budget process.
Inspire Hotel’s HODs to further embed a revenue management culture.

You must have worked for a Hotel operation or similar with;

2 - 4 years of hands-on Hotel Revenue Management experience.
HND/Bachelors/Master’s Degree in Hotel Management, Tourism or Economic Studies.
Must be a Zimbabwean Citizen.
Highly computer literate with a high level command of Excel.
Knowledgeable of hotel technology packages

Job brief
The ICT Specialist is responsible and accountable for the smooth running of our ICT systems. He/She manages the implementation, maintenance and support of the ICT systems of the Bank.
