Sixteen (16) Monitoring and Evaluation Assistants: University of Zimbabwe College of Health Sciences – Clinical Trials Unit (UZCHS-CTU)

Background
University of Zimbabwe College of Health Sciences – Clinical Trials Unit (UZCHS-CTU) on behalf of I-TECH (International Training and Education Center for Health) is seeking qualified and experienced Monitoring and Evaluation Assistants. I-TECH's activities occur primarily in the technical areas of health 
system strengthening; health workforce development; operations research and evaluation; prevention, care and treatment of infectious diseases. I-TECH is funded by PEPFAR through Center for Disease Control (CDC) to implement HIV & TB treatment and care services in five Zimbabwean provinces in support of the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC).
The M&E Assistants will be based in the following Districts: Harare x5; Mazowe x2, Chegutu x3, Hurungwe x2, Makonde x2, Kadoma x1 and Goromonzi x1.
Responsibilities
Administer entry stream testing analysis (ESTA) tools, as per SOP and tally i.e.; total number of facility attendees, total number of attendees eligible for an HIV test, total number of clients tested and clients testing HIV positive; Review HTS registers at the end of the day and abstract information on all clients tested; Review OPD register, tally and differentiate all clients tested by entry point; Observe all necessary protocol with provincial and district MoHCC structures; Accurately report all information collected at facility level to the head office team for entry into excel templates and data analysis; Assist facility staff in implementing the overall demonstration project scope of work; Clean and submit data on a daily basis to Strategic Information Coordinator; Performing any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications, skills and experience
Degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, or any related field which involves management of quantitative data; Experience working with MoHCC’s HIV program data, including functional knowledge of registers and documentation processes; Strong quantitative data analysis skills, including conducting data cleaning, verification and trend-analysis; Proficiency in at least one statistical software package e.g. STATA, SAS or SPSS is an added advantage; Fluency in English and one or more of the local languages spoken.

University of Zimbabwe College of Health Sciences Clinical Trials Unit (UZCHS-CTU) is seeking suitable trained, competent, and qualified applicants to fill the post of Medical Laboratory Scientist at Seke South CRS.
Qualifications
Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or equivalent; Registered with the Medical Laboratory & Clinical Scientists Council of Zimbabwe; At least 2-3 years’ experience; Computer literate
Responsibilities
Receive biological samples from the clinic and check for adequacy and conformity to UZCHS-CTU quality standards and process accordingly; To perform the following test: HIV (Elisa, Geenius HIV Confirmatory test), Trichomonas vaginalis (microscopy and rapid test), HCG Rapid Tests, HSV-2, Wet mount test for Bacterial vaginosis and yeast, Syphilis and Chlamydia; To harvest archive PBMCs as per protocol specific SOP; To culture and identify organisms and do susceptibility testing for organisms isolated; To perform molecular techniques – HIV DNA/RNA PCR and GeneXpert CT/NG; To conduct testing in Hematology and Biochemistry; To identify malarial parasites from stained smears; Perform full blood count, interpret results and make blood smear where manual differential is needed; Maintain an accurate inventory of all laboratory items to ensure that laboratory services will not be compromised; Must have excellent intergroup relations as well as excellent communication skills; Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

The requirements and experience for this position are

OVC and Livelihood Programme Manager: Family AIDS Caring Trust (FACT)

Family AIDS Caring Trust (FACT) is looking for an Orphans & Vulnerable Children (OVC) Manager for the Children Tariro (CT) a USAID-funded programme for Orphans and Vulnerable Children in Manicaland and Masvingo. This is a five-year programme and in its fourth year of implementation.
Responsibilities of the OVC Manager
The OVC Manager provides high-level guidance for the technical implementation of the CT programme, ensuring access to services for improving health, HIV/AIDS care and support, nutrition, education, child safeguarding, household economic strengthening, and psychosocial wellbeing for the communities, families, orphans and vulnerable children; S/he reports directly to the Executive Director (ED) and will advise and support the ED in developing and implementing the strategic vision for and coordination of the program, and in ensuring the quality of processes and results of all program activities; Ensures work planes, budgets and reports of high quality are submitted to the donor timely; Appraises all programme specialists and also ensures all departmental staff are appraised too; Conducts support visits to all partners as per the project requirements
Required qualifications of the OVC Manager
A Master’s Degree in social sciences or related field; Five years of experience implementing OVC programs in a development context, with 4 of these years on USG projects; Five years demonstrated experience in managing, coordinating and supervising a team working with local community organizations, families and communities; Demonstrated ability to work effectively with government representatives, for-profit private sector entities, local community organizations, donors and other stakeholders, particularly at the sub-national level; M & E and operation research experience for quality improvement

A grassroots non-profit organization working in Harare Zimbabwe to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS and other vices by educating young women and girls is looking for an Intern – Social Worker. The intern should be a student currently enrolled at one of the local universities and studying for a degree in Social Work.
The intern’s responsibilities will focus on addressing the psychosocial needs of our beneficiaries and their families in order to improve academic performance and provide support for the challenges that program beneficiaries are facing. The intern will work with the Executive Coordinator, with the involvement of the student, the family, the community, and schools, to identify needs, establish intervention plans, and collaborate with community agencies to provide additional psycho-social support to beneficiaries and their families.
The intern will be expected to perform (but not limited to) the following duties, with supervision and guidance by the Executive Coordinator:
Provide interventions based on detailed assessments, including but not limited to:
Individual and group counselling for selected beneficiaries and families, as needed; Case management for identified students; Home and school visits; Liaise and advocate for student and parents on issues of social welfare and psycho-social support; Assessment prior to providing interventions; Contribute social media materials (blog posts, Facebook posts, twitter posts) related to the social welfare of our beneficiaries and the psycho-social support Tariro provides for our beneficiaries; Attend related conferences and seminars; Assist in grant writing where the intern will work closely with the Executive Coordinator, with special emphasis on grants supporting Tariro’s psycho-social support for beneficiaries; Participate in community collaborative and/or meetings; Initiate localised awareness campaigns on different issues affecting the girl child with the assistance of the Executive Coordinator; Participate in beneficiaries’ monthly meetings and conducting/facilitating monthly extra-curricular activities; Assist with administrative responsibilities and financial reporting related to Tariro’s social welfare and psycho-social programs, including but not limited to logistics for events and uploading financial records in Money-Minder.
The intern will also be expected to perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Coordinator.

Terre Des Hommes Germany is an international non-governmental child rights organisation with head-office in Osnabrück, Germany. The regional office in Southern Africa is based in Johannesburg and the regional programme supports more than forty projects in Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Terre Des Hommes Germany is calling for Expressions of Interest from interested M&E experts for a three-year food and nutrition security of children in Zambia and Zimbabwe project that will be implemented by two project partners.
This is not a full-time position but a part-time consultancy assignment. Applicants must be based in Zimbabwe and able to travel to Lower Gweru in Zimbabwe and Kazungula in Zambia at least three times a year. Holding a drivers’ licence is an essential requirement. Transport and travel costs will be provided by TDH.
Essential requirements and qualifications include a University degree in social sciences, agronomy, nutrition or any other relevant field; At least 10 years of experience in M&E; Extensive knowledge in conducting baseline surveys in food security and nutrition; knowledge using database software; Experience in project planning using a logical framework approach and in writing comprehensive project progress report. Residence in Zimbabwe is also a requirement.
Tdh endorses child safeguarding policies and the selected candidate will be required to present a policy clearance and sign tdh referred policies prior signature of a contract.

Position summary

Desired qualifications
Degree in a relevant field; Relevant experience in working in international development, with at least two years in a business development role; Expertise in adolescent health, HIV prevention and/or youth development; International grant and program management experience; Experience working with private foundations, corporations, and key bilateral (USAID, CDC, DFID) and multilateral (UN agencies) donors strongly preferred; Experience working with the Government of Zimbabwe (Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education in particular) around health and development issues preferred; Superior writing skills, including grant and proposal writing experience; Fluency in English, Ndebele and Shona.
