Warehouse Clerk: Terre des homes

Contract: Fixed Term
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the position of Warehouse Clerk which has arisen within Terre des hommes Italia Office.
The contract will be for a fixed term duration of 12 months.
The Job:
• Reporting to the Programmes Coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: Ascertain that all packed items are properly labelled with batch and item numbers.
• Receiving, off-loading and placing incoming inventory items appropriately and compare items with invoices and work order.
• Arrange for items to be checked for damage and moved to designated storage areas in collaboration with the concerned partner to use the materials.
• Ascertain that all incoming items are logged into the organisational database and any special notes are inserted
• Prepare inventory of all materials and products verifying supplies before distribution; Create and file records of incoming and outgoing shipments and process requests for information retrieval.
• Process and file Material stock requests (MRS) and ring alerts for low stock materials; Monitor incoming and outgoing stock for obvious faults or defects and report these to a supervisor or senior manager.
• Organize and rearrange materials and products in warehouse inspecting products for damages and defects
• Ensuring deliveries and distributions transactions’ accuracy; Conducting periodic food distributions to refugees and asylum seekers with minimum storage and handling losses.
• Promotion and maintenance of high standards of food hygiene; Perform both preventative and regular maintenance on warehouse equipment and tools.
• Conduct audits of warehouse stock and report any need for improvement to the supervisor; Implement best practices in maintaining and managing warehouse. ascertaining that warehouse safety procedures are implemented and that compliance is maintained.
• Performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
The person:
• Diploma in supply chain and logistics management, honest, reliable and dedicated
• Experience working in a Warehouse Shipping & Receiving
• Good computer skills & Meticulous attention to detail
• Strong work ethic & Physically and mentally fit
• Clear understanding and appreciation of health and safety procedures
• Comprehensive knowledge of supply chain management; Good organizational and time management skills

The JF Kapnek Trust seeks a vibrant, dynamic and self-starter Communications Intern who will be working directly under the OVC Program Manager. The Communications Intern will mainly be responsible for communications and marketing efforts for the Trust.
The main duties of the position will be: Update and maintain the JF Kapnek Trust social media presence, including development and scheduling of updates across several platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.); Distribute and pitch news releases, media alerts and other stories; Assist in the design of graphics and other IEC material different programs; Update the JF Kapnek Trust website as needed; Document activities in the field across multiple programs; Collaborate with staff on new ideas, direction and venues for marketing and communications; Adhere to ethical code in communications and publicity; Assist with other responsibilities as needed
Qualifications and experience required
Recently graduated with a Degree in Media Studies and Communication, Development Studies or any related technical field; Firm grasp of available tools and platforms in the social media space; An effective communicator, both written and oral; Previous internship or related experience in marketing or communications is a plus; Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines; Enthusiasm for the mission of the JF Kapnek Trust and the community we serve; Professional demeanor (dress, presentation, etc.); Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with multidisciplinary teams; Any exposure to OVC programs is a distinct added advantage
Duration
The Intern will assist the programmes team for an initial period of 6 (six) months.

Main purpose of the role
The Programme Administrator and Finance Assistant (PAFA) intern will play a critical role in assisting the project team with support in the implementation of programmes. This candidate’s role is responsible for supporting the accurate, efficient and timely management of financial and administrative procedures and for ensuring excellent communication on, and co-ordination of these requirements with stakeholders. The PAFA is also responsible for organisational logistics and provides general administrative support and office management. The incumbent will need to be a competent bookkeeper, an excellent communicator, organised and efficient, have great attention to detail and the flexibility to enjoy a demanding and varied role.
The successful candidate should have
HND, First degree or similar in accountancy/financial management (desirable) or other relevant discipline, e.g. business studies, office administration, project administration, project management; Excellent abilities in accounting and financial administration including management of cash flows, balance sheets, sizeable budgets (planning, monitoring and reporting); High levels of proficiency in Excel and experience of using accounting packages; Knowledge of project management methodologies in a good governance context (including logical framework, project cycle management, etc.) and how to integrate good financial management into good project management; Excellent levels of spoken and written English; Experience of organising a busy workload and working in a fast changing environment; Experience of procurement processes; Knowledge of child safeguarding and child protection policies in Zimbabwe.

Constructions Assistant: JF Kapnek Trust Zimbabwe

The Constructions Assistant will work closely under the supervision of the Program Assistant, shadowing him on all aspects of the construction/renovation of pre-schools being developed under the Kapnek ECD programme. This includes quantity surveying and supervision of builders carrying out the work among other duties. The Constructions Assistant will also drive the vehicle to the sites as and when required to do so.
The main duties of the position will be:
Take part, as delegated, in the construction/ renovations of preschools; Take part in the supervision of the construction/renovation of preschools being developed under the Kapnek ECD programme; Assist the Program Assistant to devise a construction programme and timetable; Take part in the activities to ensure that all construction/renovations are of the highest standard and are consistent with relevant building regulations; Participate to ensure that construction/renovations are completed on schedule; Assist the Program Assistant to ensure that any other repairs or maintenance work which may be requested by the Kapnek Trust is effectively completed; Support the Administrative follow up of the Construction activities; Under the supervision of the Program Assistant carry out quantity surveys for each project and obtain required quotes for material and labour for submission to Finance through the Program Manager; Assist in the recruitment and negotiation of employment of skilled tradesmen to work on the project; Take part in the storage and security of materials at building sites; Safe transportation of renovations and construction materials and people as required; Safe Driving of the vehicle to and from the sites and as requested
Ensure the vehicle is well managed and report any technical issues on the vehicle
Qualifications and experience required
National Certificate in Construction Technology or related; More than 5 years’ building experience; Clean Class 4 driver’s license with at least two years driving experience; Quantity surveying experience; Willingness to learn, someone who is teachable; Ability to work collaboratively with team members.

This position reports to the Provincial SIE Officer. The position will contribute to overall improved quality of data generated by the district as well as extracting and sharing information that the data presents by way of data analysis and interrogation at District level to allow for informed decision making.
The main duties of the position will be:
Technical Support: Provide strong technical support to the district team in monitoring program output indicators; Continuously review monitoring tools for the program team and ensure that data relevant for the program are collected; Identify key issues around program quality and ensure monitoring systems are improved to address bottlenecks
Quality Control and Trainings: Participate in regular data quality checks conducted to address data quality challenges identified at site level; Support M&E Trainings in the district (out/on-site); Provide backup support to the program team at district level and prepare reports for the districts and sites; Participate in provincial M&E trainings and undertake regular visits to the field to support implementation of M&E activities to identify where adaptations might be needed; Monitor turnaround time of DNA PCR HIV test results for HIV exposed infants within the district; Lead in conducting of impact, mid-term and end line evaluation and case studies to document project success; Interpret findings from research and advise program strategy.
Cohort Analysis: Perform cohort analysis in the district to establish paediatric HIV transmission rates at 6 weeks, 6 months, 9, 12, 15, 18, and 24 months; Perform cohort analysis in the district to determine maternal retention in care at 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, and 24 months; Ensure that data from priority hospitals and clinics are entered into DATIM and DHIS2; Produce quarterly narrative reports and share with office; Perform any other related tasks as assigned by the Provincial SIE Officer
Qualifications and experience required
Degree in Statistics, Health Promotion, Social Work; Sociology or related; At least 2-year experience at a similar level; Statistical software knowledge such as SPSS, Epi Info
Knowledge of Primary Health Care; Should be able to work with minimal supervision; Should be computer literate (Microsoft word and excel); Ability to work in a remote area
