The Sizimele Action for Resilience Building Program (the Sizimele Program) is being implemented in Lupane, Insiza and Matobo districts under the Zimbabwe Resilience Building Fund (ZRBF). The Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Water, Climate and Rural Resettlements (MLAWCRS) as the permanent player at the community level is the key partner in the implementation of the program. The Sizimele Program is seeking the services of a Drought/Survival Feeding Livestock Facilitator who will support the targetted farmers to access and feed survival stock-feed to cattle and goats.
The duties of the Drought/Survival Feeding Livestock Facilitator will include:
Working with existing farmer groups and associations to identify non productive animals for pen fattening/finishing in order to sell to high value markets; Working with existing farmer groups and associations to select breeding animals for survival feeding during the drought period; Engaging feed manufacturers and agrodealers to supply stock feed to farmers; Assisting farmers to access drinking water for their livestock; Helping farmers to access stock feed from Government and Donor drought relief programs.
This is a 6 months position with an inclusive salary of USD$700 per month. The successful candidate will be responsible for their insurance. They will be based at the Institute for Rural Technologies, a partner in the Sizimele Consortium.

Monitoring & Evaluation Officer

Job Purpose
The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) function is core to Ark’s mission. The role’s main objective is to ensure that funded programs are effectively able to collect, analyse and report on performance and demonstrate impact consistent with Ark’s mission. The M& E Officer will work closely with Ark programme teams to ensure that M&E frameworks are effectively implemented to allow for effective programme management and performance reporting.

Principal Accountabilities
· Ensuring that programmes implement and maintain high quality M&E systems and strategy
· Support Ark with reliable and comprehensive analysis of the results and impact of programmes
· Ensure that the M&E component of programmes are well defined, uses the most efficient and effective approaches to demonstrate impact
· Ensure that the data being collected is of good quality and is used to improve programme management and implementation
· Support ME and Reporting, central to manage external programme evaluations
· Responsible for the designing and conducting of programme evaluations including midterm and end of programme evaluations;
· Facilitate documentation of Ark experiences, lessons learnt, impact and best practices to facilitate ease of access to partners, stakeholders, and members of the International community, researchers and policy makers;
Qualification and Experience
· Degree in Social Science, Demography, Statistics, Public Health, Health Informatics or Health Information Management

Background
University of Zimbabwe College of Health Sciences – Clinical Trials Research Centre (UZCHS-CTRC) on behalf of I-TECH (International Training and Education Center for Health) is seeking suitably trained and qualified applicants to fill the position of Senior Program Manager - SIE. I-TECH's activities occur primarily in the technical areas of health system strengthening; health workforce development; operations research and evaluation; prevention, care and treatment of infectious diseases. I-TECH is funded by PEPFAR through Center for Disease Control to implement HIV & TB treatment and care services in five Zimbabwean provinces in support of the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC). The contract is for ten (10) months effective 01 December 2018 to 30 September 2019 and is renewable annually subject to availability of funding and satisfactory performance.
Job Summary
The incumbent will be responsible for providing strategic leadership in the design and implementation of monitoring & evaluation systems, information and communication technology (ICT) activities of the Zimbabwe Care and Treatment programme and will be reporting to the Head of Programs – Care & Treatment. He/She will directly supervise the M&E and ICT Managers and collaborate closely with team members from I-TECH consortium partners (including I-TECH HQ, I-TECH Zimbabwe, Pangaea Zimbabwe, AIDS Trust and AFRICAID) in providing technical input and project management for implementing the monitoring and evaluation scope of work and in ensuring compliance with USG, I-TECH and UZCHS-CTRC policies and regulations.
Responsibilities
Overseeing the data governance system by creating and maintaining consistent policies, processes, and tools, strong ICT, M&E and data management infrastructure and implementing such policies and processes in cost effective ways; Providing oversight, technical leadership and project management of ICT activities including maintenance of central data repository and associated mobile applications; Ensuring that standard operational procedures and processes are in place, up-to-date, and practiced in I-TECH Zimbabwe’s M&E activities; Developing, implementing and maintaining data quality assurance and control mechanisms, including overseeing data quality assessments and leading activities related to data collection, management, and validation processes and being accountable for data privacy and security; Communicating realistic timelines on project implementation to all relevant stakeholders in the consortium and disseminating results of program interventions and analysis in a timely manner; Collaborating closely with consortium partners to assist in implementing the HIV care and treatment program according to project timelines, plans and objectives; Ensuring compatibility of data reporting systems of I-TECH partners and that all evaluation activities are well coordinated and running smoothly according to approved protocols; Providing oversight on statistical analysis and/or interpretation of results, data and information for programme and policy development; Conducting routine and regular strategic/program planning meetings with I-TECH staff using evidence gleaned from data analysis and interpretation; Participating in the design and management of study and M&E tools as need arises and continuously flagging urgent matters and critical success factors that will be off-track; Fostering a “big-picture” mind set and holistic understanding of the program within the entire project team by collaborating closely with consortium partners to assist in implementing the HIV care and treatment program according to project timelines, plans and objectives; Inculcating and institutionalizing a problem-solving and critical thinking culture within team members thereby enabling them to work independently with a sense of shared ownership, pride and responsibility; Responding to information requirements and requests from CDC, MoHCC and I-TECH headquarters, by effectively delegating and coordinating collection, analysis and presentation of available information in a structured manner which ensures quality standards are maintained; Performing any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Advanced degree in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Public Health or related field and possession of an MPH or MBA would be vital; Minimum of 7 years working experience in data governance, policy formulation, capacity building of data management, health informatics project management with increasing responsibility in senior leadership and management positions; Certifications with data visualization, health informatics, data analytics, or data management preferred; Experience in developing M&E work plans, data analysis, visualization and translation of data into effective communication materials, development of evaluation frameworks, in conducting operational research and public health evaluations and in budget preparation & monitoring; Knowledge and experience in developing IRB applications, study designs, applying appropriate research methods and implementing studies according to protocols; Strong quantitative data analysis skills, including conducting data cleaning, verification and trend analysis, and data visualization software; Excellent report writing, analytical, problem solving, presentation and interpersonal communication skills with fluency in English and one or more of the local spoken languages (Shona and/or Ndebele) coupled with an exceptional ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Job Summary
The M & E Manager will be responsible for the overall design and execution of the M&E infrastructure at I-TECH Zimbabwe, including identifying and meeting M&E performance standards as well as data security, integrity and privacy requirements. This management role entails having oversight on all data collected, processed, stored, and published and the incumbent will be part of the core data governance team. The M&E Manager will be the lead in executing elements of the data governance strategy, both directly and through the management of the M&E team, and in collaboration with other I-TECH Zimbabwe program teams.
Responsibilities
Providing technical leadership and project management in implementing I-TECH SOW, work plan and M&E framework on the I-TECH project; Fostering a “big-picture” mind set and holistic understanding of the program within the entire project team by collaborating closely with consortium partners to assist in implementing the HIV care and treatment program according to project timelines, plans and objectives; Providing oversight on the design, development and maintenance of a consortium-wide electronic information system and on statistical analysis and/or interpretation of results, data and information for programme and policy development; Participating in the design and management of study and M&E/ICT tools as need arises and in Technical Work Groups for the HIV care and treatment program, as well as national, provincial and district review meetings as required; Responding to information demand placed on consortium by CDC, MoHCC and I-TECH headquarters by effectively delegating and coordinating the collection, analysis and presentation of available information in a structured manner which ensures the maintenance of quality standards; Disseminating results of program interventions and analysis of process/activity and clinical outcome data in a timely manner; Working with coordinators to ensure the application of appropriate research methodology and ensuring that all operational research activities are well coordinated and running smoothly according to approved protocols; Managing work-plan implementation, specifying work-breakdown structure, responsible person/s for each activity, timelines and associated SOPs; Conducting routine and regular strategic/program planning meetings with I-TECH staff using evidence gleaned from data analysis and interpretation; Managing the program request tracker and continuously flagging urgent matters and critical success factors that will be off-track; Communicating realistic timelines for achievement of set goals to relevant stakeholders in the consortium and ensuring that all work is handed over to the Seattle team on critical projects as required; Modelling expected behavior and coaching team members to cultivate and institutionalize a problem-solving and critical thinking culture within team members and empowering them to be able to work independently and have a sense of shared ownership, pride and responsibility of their work.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Advanced degree in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Public Health or related field and possession of an MBA would be an added advantage; Minimum of 7 years working experience in M&E training and health-related projects with increasing responsibility in senior leadership and management positions with proficiency in at least one statistical software package e.g. STATA, SAS or SPSS; Advanced Microsoft office skills especially in MS Excel, including pivot-tables, formatting, statistical functions and formulas; Strong quantitative data analysis skills, including study designing, data cleaning, verification and trend-analysis coupled with demonstrable project management skills but not limited to budget preparation, monitoring and in managing electronic health information systems; Strong report writing and presentation skills, including study protocol administration and interfacing with relevant stakeholders; Excellent analytical, detail orientation, problem solving and interpersonal communication skills and demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

OBJECTIVES OF THE CONSULTANT:
The Researcher / Writer’s work is aimed at producing a report that presents and showcase the impact, progress and lessons learnt under The Project (Sustainable Electricity for Rural Communities (SE4RC) project implemented by Practical Action and Partners in Zimbabwe and Malawi focusing on solar energy. Specifically, the consultant is expected to:
1. In a compelling and captivating manner for specific Practical Action and partner audiences, produce a Report Detailing Impact, Progress and learning achieved under the SE4RC project in Zimbabwe and Malawi.
2. Following Practical Action and partner branding guidelines and values, engage in creative interviews, ensuring impact, learning, progress and success achieved under SE4RC is captured and highlighted.
DELIVERABLES:
Working closely with Practical Action Knowledge Management and Communications Coordinator the following deliverables are expected;
1. A schedule for the entire production process, indicating timelines for interviews and writing process.
2. A well written Report based on extensive research highlighting Lessons Learnt and achievements the multi country project has achieved.
Language of the video documentary:
Practical Action and its partners expect the written report to be produced in English.
Profile of the Researcher, Writer (company/individual)
Practical Action expect the researcher/writer to meet the following minimum requirements:
1. At least five years’ experience in documentation, research and writing, some of the must have enjoyed broadcast time and published on credible local and international media platforms.
2. At least three years’ experience in documentation of development content and projects.
3. Experience in conducting a similar assignment for an international NGO will be a distinct advantage
Working arrangements:
The identified team/individual will work closely with and under the overall supervision of Practical Action Knowledge Management and Communications Coordinator.
Practical Action will, in close liaison with the Programme Teams review and suggest changes (in-house pre-testing) where necessary to the Report at different stages of development. The final sign-off and ownership of the content for the work will remain with Practical Action.

• At least 5 years' post qualification relevant experience
• Experience in acting as company spokesperson as well as comfortable and skilled in the use of various media platforms, including print and electronic.
• Solid experience with social media including Facebook, Twitter etc
• Experience in brand promotion and marketing of services, preferably financial, will be an added advantage

The position requires a mature individual responsible for supporting mechanical operations by carrying out all plant equipment and machinery installations, repairs/modifications, preventive and scheduled maintenance activities in line with departmental documentation, procedures and safety management system.
ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational
• To carry out component change outs, full test and adjustment to plant equipment and machinery;
• To perform Failure Mode and Effect Analysis/Diagnosis on plant machinery and equipment and subsequently rectify faults and to take part in finding efficient solutions to return equipment to working order;
• To perform Risk Assessments for every task, maintaining and focusing on safe work practices and a safe work environment.
• To team up and assist in preparing, establishing and implementing appropriate working procedures in achieving deadlines.
• To deliver against the agreed key performance indicators established for your area in line with the business plan.
• To deliver a quality service within the budget costs and capital investment plan.
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
• A time served Fitter and Turner/Machinist;
• At least 7 years post apprenticeship experience of which 5 years should have been in a Sugar Milling and Power Plant Industry;
• Possesses excellent understanding of planning and scheduling of work processes;
• Demonstrates the ability to read, understand and work from technical drawings and manuals;
• Ability to work as part of a team, on own initiative and unsupervised.
