Background

Brief background
The FAO Subregional Office for Southern Africa (SFS) has been undertaking a number of interventions in support of efforts of the governments in Southern Africa and Eritrea to promote sustainable agriculture production intensification of small scale farmers; monitoring and response to plant pests and diseases, routine agriculture and food security situation monitoring and reporting. Since last year, SFS has also been supporting the countries in the subregion to sustainably manage the Fall Armyworm (FAW) under the Framework Programme for the management of FAW in Africa in collaboration with several partners.

The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) Zimbabwe is a
local humanitarian NGO of the Seventh-day Adventist Church working in Zimbabwe
for over 30 years. ADRA Zimbabwe believes that: Through its humanitarian acts,

The project aims at strengthening of community and district
capacities to prepare for and mitigate the hazards of climate variation by

techniques to increase resilience to extreme weather variability in flood
impacted areas. Project also aims at implementing interventions focused on
agriculture recovery with an emphasis on agricultural inputs provision; fodder
production and fodder seed multiplication; fodder market linkages; improved
livestock management; post-harvest management technologies; farm-level natural
resources management; and increasing access to rural micro-finance support.
ADRA Zimbabwe seeks to recruit a highly qualified and
experienced individual who will work with different stakeholders in the
District to successfully implement project objectives. S/he will have wide
practical experience dealing with farmers, policy makers and implementers for
sustainability and to ensure compliance based on the DIP and as directed by the
