We seek to employ a self-starter with a high regard for integrity as Head of Finance. The Head of Finance is a member of the Senior Management Team of ActionAid (AA) Zimbabwe reporting to the Country Director and is technically supported by our Global Secretariat based in Johannesburg. This post involves a full range of financial oversight and general management functions.
The successful candidate will have, a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting/ Business Administration or equivalent, an MBA in Finance will be an added advantage; membership of a professional accountancy body.; work experience with an NGO would be of added advantage; a minimum of eight (8) years relevant experience in a reputable organization with a minimum of three (3) years post qualification in a senior management position.
In addition, the position requires very strong experience in financial management and accounting practices at a senior management level; proven experience in implementing financial and administrative control systems; excellent team building and leadership skills, interpersonal and communication skills, high degree of maturity and sense of good judgment are also essential; proven experience in running donor funded projects; sound practical knowledge of spreadsheets, knowledge of one Information Technology accounting systems is a must and knowledge of SUN system is an advantage; practical understanding of development programming challenges and appreciation of the financial support requirement; willing to and has skills to develop capacity of Action Aid Zimbabwe staff in sound financial management practices.

The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) Zimbabwe is a local humanitarian NGO of the Seventh-day Adventist Church working in Zimbabwe for over 30 years. ADRA Zimbabwe believes that: Through its humanitarian acts, we make known the just, merciful, and loving character of God; To work with those in need is an expression of the love for God; Non-discrimination and respect for differences, accepting people as equals, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, and political or religious affiliation enrich the communities in which we work and are assets to be respected and affirmed.
The project aims at strengthening of community and district capacities to prepare for and mitigate the hazards of climate variation by further developing a culture of risk awareness, assessment and contingency planning. This approach will be coupled with ongoing improvements to livelihoods protection systems and enhanced training and support on improved production techniques to increase resilience to extreme weather variability in flood impacted areas. Project also aims at implementing interventions focused on agriculture recovery with an emphasis on agricultural inputs provision; fodder production and fodder seed multiplication; fodder market linkages; improved livestock management; post-harvest management technologies; farm-level natural resources management; and increasing access to rural micro-finance support.
This job exists to assist the M & E Coordinator in providing oversight and recommending corrective action before, during project implementation and at end of project activities. S/he will assist in M & E activities such as: Baseline studies, field monitoring visits, midterm evaluations, project close out; Implementation of projects to ensure compliance to various protocols; Monitoring the effectiveness and impact of the project on the lives of the target group and follow ups and recommendations; Data collection from the operational areas for monitoring, evaluation and preparation of M & E reports as laid out in the year plan
Competencies and experience
Degree in Statistics, Quantitative Sciences or Monitoring and Evaluation. Post graduate Certificate in M & E will be a distinct advantage; 2 to 3 years Monitoring and Evaluation experience, especially in the development/ NGO sector would be an advantage; Good communication and Report writing skills

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct frequent classroom observations to analyse instruction and supervise staff to ensure continuous improvement in teaching and learning. 8. Prepare annual budget proposal for the school.9. Manage and efficiently utilise the available human and material resources in the school. 10. Encourage meaningful alumni, parent and past parent participation in events that aid support to the goals of the school. 11. Manage fundraising efforts by articulating the goals for which funds are being raised. 12. Maintain accurate personnel, enrolment, financial, schemes of work and any other school records. 13.Serve as an ex-officio member of the School Development Association/Committee. 14.Develop the school calendar in consultation with teaching staff and in partnership with stakeholders. 15.Develop the school time table in consultation with the teaching staff. 16. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCES
• Be a Certified University Graduate. Please note that applicants for 'A' level schools should be holders of a degree with relevant teaching subject. • A relevant Masters degree would be an added advantage. • At least two (2) years experience as Deputy Head. • Thorough understanding of the Education Act. • Knowledge of Public Service and Education regulations, procedures and policies. • Must be results oriented and self-driven. • Ability to handle confidential information. • Good management and leadership skills • Good communication skills at all levels. • Ability to work as part of a team. • Must have good analytical, organisational and report writing skills. • Computer literate.
DEPUTY HEAD
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
1. In charge of school in the absence of the Head. 2. Attends to disciplinary matters of pupils and staff. Chairs the Disciplinary Committee and report recommendations to the Head. 3. Implements performance management system. 4. Draws up the school timetable in consultation with the Head. 5. Draws up termly programmes and organizes school functions. 6. Procures and distributes teaching materials in consultation with Head, HODs and Teachers. 7. Conducts induction and orientation of new pupils and Teachers. 8. Informs the Head on matters affecting the school. 14.Assess Teachers' performance regularly and write reports as may be required by the school Head. 15.Plan and conduct in-service courses for Teachers. 16.Introduce and maintain systematic and comprehensive methods and records of assessing pupil's performance. 17.Ensure that official records are kept up to date. 18.Supervise the Non-Teaching staff and to report on their performances to the school Head as may be required (Government school). 19.Natures/fosters students and staff discipline, spirit and business ethics. 
QUALIFICATIONS. EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCES 
• Be a Certified University Graduate and holders of Primacy/ Secondary Teachers' Certificate/Diploma. Applicants for 'A Level schools should be holders of a degree with a teaching subject. • Have a commendable work experience as Senior Teacher or equivalent grade. • Prepared to reside in the District • Knowledge of Education and Public Service policies, procedures. rules and regulations • Able to work as part of a team • Computer literacy
