Senior Network Engineer

Review new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades. Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services. Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information. Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports. Participate in managing all network security solutions. Perform server and security audits, and system backups and recovery. Manage servers, including database, applications and backup servers and their associated operating systems and software. Mainly Windows server 2008, Windows Server 2012, Debian systems. Formal Education & Certification. CCNP minimum experience for Routing and Switching. • Develop, implement and maintain financial management and procurement procedures, risk assessments and control measures to manage and monitor across the regional office and to ensure compliance with Practical Action’s group overall policies, generally accepted accounting standards external donor requirements and national laws and regulations, identifying corrective measures as required.
• Develop and implement procedures for assessing the value for money that Practical Action obtains in all its activities to identify cost savings and ensure financial efficiency and value for money principles are an integral part of the programme activities.
• Review of all restricted funding applications to ensure the budget reflects realistic operational plans and support costs are being sufficiently recovered
• Ensure the preparation of donor financial reports, relevant reconciliation, audits are completed accurately, on time and submitted as appropriate.
• Lead the preparation and submission of a full set of financial statements and responses to management letter issues, providing interpretation of specific notes and articulating variances to previous years.
• Facilitate and co-ordinate both internal and external audits and lead the development and implementation of action plans based on audit recommendations, monitoring progress on achievements.
• Monitor overall liquidity, set appropriate petty cash levels and manage bank accounts and operated by the Regional Office to ensure prudent operations.
• Actively manage foreign currency balances, exchange rate exposure, debtors, partner balances and supplier terms to minimize working capital requirements. Forecasts multi-currency cash flows.• Keep up to date knowledge of taxation laws and future changes in the taxation environment and their implication for Practical Action. 
• Advise internal stakeholders on taxation and most appropriate taxation structure, including those related to PAC.
• Ensure that all statutory and non-statutory deductions are made properly, promptly and are remitted to the respective authority as required by law.

Our organisation seeks a Harare-based Program Officer to assist with implementation of its International Observation Mission (IOM) program in Zimbabwe. Under the overall supervision of the Mission Co-Director, the Program Officer will be responsible for programmatic aspects of the IOM and will support the implementation, documentation, reporting and administrative operations of the Mission and for core team staff as necessary.
Responsibilities include the following
Serves as Harare-based point of contact for IOM, including pre-election assessment mission, long-term observation and election day leadership delegation; Assist the Mission Co-Director and Resident Logistics Manager in implementation of programmatic activities, including finalizing the delegation’s schedule, logistics room arrangements and staff support assignments; coordinate with the Mission and core team staff on vehicle and communications movement and support; Under close supervision and direction, researches, creates or makes substantial contributions to drafts of reports, memos, program updates, work plans and newsletter articles; Participates in organizing local program conferences, workshops and meetings; Accurately edits and proofreads bi-weekly field reports; prepares team minutes and updates in a timely manner; Monitors political events throughout the country; Closely coordinates with DC-based Program Officer to provide programmatic, administrative and logistical support to the Mission and core team staff in Harare; Maintains constant communication with long-term observers (LTOs), long-term analysts (LTAs), short-term observers (STOs), partner organizations and HQ and local staff; Assists with basic management of program purposes and goals by appropriately responding to programmatic administrative support requests and maintaining accurate files and reports; Acts as back-up to other team members; May assist in recruiting and briefing qualified international consultants; assists with coordination of office set-up, maintenance and closeout procedures; With guidance, compiles briefing materials for staff, consultants and Mission team members.
Experience required
Minimum of three (6) years of experience in civil society organisations; Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Political Science or a related field; Experience with assisting large programs preferred; Excellent written and oral communication skills; Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with staff, donors, government personnel and local partners; Working knowledge of PC-based word processing and spreadsheet applications; preferred knowledge of Google applications, including Gmail and Google Drive; Working knowledge of basic budget and accounting procedures; Capacity to work both independently and as a member of a team; Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; Interest in and knowledge of national and regional political environment and people; Political analysis skills; High degree of organization and initiative; Knowledge of program evaluation techniques preferred; Experience working at a non-profit preferred; Proven work experience as a Program Assistant or similar role; Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data.
