Background
CeSHHAR Zimbabwe is an organization that specializes in sexual health, HIV and AIDS research in Zimbabwe. CeSHHAR in collaboration with the MOHCC and NAC is implementing a National Sex Work Programme aimed at reducing HIV acquisition and transmission among female, male and transgender sex workers thereby reducing HIV transmission and acquisition to and from their clients. Low consistent condom use, risk of drug use and increasing transactional sex are some of the common reasons that put these key populations at risk of acquiring STI and HIV infection. Therefore, reaching these populations and increasing awareness and access to STI & HIV prevention, testing and treatment services are fundamental to reducing transmission of STI and HIV infections.
Objectives
To improve access to HIV/STI Preventive Service Package among these populations; To encourage and facilitate them to avail HIV/STI Counselling, Testing and Treatment Services
Scope of work
Under the overall supervision of the Programme Coordinator, and under direct supervision of the Clinic Managers, the Nurses will be responsible for the following tasks:
Performing routine physical examination on all clients i.e. temp, B/P, pulse and routine vaginal examination on all women; Providing treatment and care for sexually transmitted infections and other reproductive health concerns according to National Guidelines; Performing rapid syphilis testing; Prescription and dispensing of drugs; Performing Rapid HIV testing in accordance with procedures by the Zimbabwe HPC; Pre and post-test counselling and risk reduction; Giving appropriate supportive counselling, referral and follow up; Offering family planning counselling services; Maintaining proper documentation of all clinical and laboratory procedures on all program clients; Update and maintenance of clinical records; Ordering drugs clinic sundries at clinic level; Compiling of weekly, monthly and quarterly statistics and clinic reports; Doing any other duties as assigned by the program coordinator; Scheduling of mobile clinic visit
Required Qualifications
Diploma /degree in General nursing .Post basic training is an added advantage; Certificate in Rapid HIV certificate; Forensic certificate; Certificate / diploma in counselling an added advantage; Experience with key populations
Desirables
Demonstrated effective verbal and written communications; Good knowledge on use of Microsoft word, excel and power point
Other Requirements
Good interpersonal communication skills and having high respect for confidentiality
Experiences
Preference will be given to those having experience of working in Non-Governmental Organizations or Civil Society Organization in HIV/AIDS related programmes.

Background

AHF is looking for a Medical Officer for Mutare Provincial Hospital Centre of Excellence. The successful candidates will work under the direct supervision of the Medical Superintendent and AHF Country Program Manager.
Position Summary
The Medical Officer provides leadership and direction to maximize the potential of medical and non-medical staff involved in patient care. He/she provides professional medical services to complement the delivery of HIV/AIDS treatment and care and related general medical services; supports leadership development, works closely with, and provides training, supervision and mentorship for middle managers in the facility including the Medical Officers and Nurses. He/she is actively participates in management of resources such as staff, infrastructure, maintaining strategic partnerships; reporting and ensuring quality standards of care are delivered at the facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintains 40 hours weekly to see patients at the clinic, providing initiation, treatment, care and follow-up as required; Provides leadership in analysis of reports, tests, examination and facilitation of referrals to medical specialists or other practitioners for specialized treatment; Responsible for maintaining delivery of high quality medical care and efficiency of all services provided within the program; Leads the development and implementation of SOPS by ensuring that the staff understand and adhere to them; Analyses clinical data to inform quality of care in consultation with the M & E team; Ensures and monitors that all clinic staff participate in scheduled staff and recommended CME (continued medical education) in a manner that upholds peer interaction, with monthly CMEs held per clinic site; Develops the capacity of the workforce to contribute to and respond to strategic priorities, with emphasis on expanding access to ARV’s and continuously providing quality care; Organizes staff training on medical protocols, new guidelines/directives in accordance with current legislation etc; Prepares monthly and other important reports as necessary and required by AHF management; Interacts and liaises with partners in a manner that is professional and promotes the principle of positive collaboration; Undertakes any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Supervisory and Managerial Responsibilities
Manages and supervises all activities at Mutare Provincial Hospital Centre of Excellence.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree from a recognized institution; Registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Zimbabwe AND Current open practicing certificate; At least 5 years as a health worker, 2 years of which should be in a senior position, Research experience preferred, Teaching and mentoring experience preferred, Specialist interest in HIV management

Consultancy for Project Baseline Evaluation

Introduction
Zimbabwe Council for the Blind (ZCfB) is a local Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) whose main aim is to provide eye health services by complementing the Government of Zimbabwe, through its different ministries, in efforts to prevent blindness, restore sight to thousands of Zimbabweans and improve the quality of life for many whose sight cannot be restored. It has been operating in the country since 1955.
Purpose of the consultancy
Zimbabwe Council for the Blind is seeking the services of a consultant to undertake a baseline evaluation for a new eye health project.
Description of the project
The CBM-Peek Zimbabwe project is a 3 year eye screening project implemented by Zimbabwe Council for the Blind, through funding from CBM. The project has a total budget of USD 954,562.04 and its overall goal is to improve the quality of life of the world’s poorest people with or at risk of visual impairment through the application of Peek tools. Peek Vision is a social enterprise which produces cost-effective smartphone technology which allows vision screening to be conducted using smartphones. The information collected allows people to be connected to health services that would otherwise be out of reach. The CBM-Peek Zimbabwe project will provide free eye screening and referral to appropriate services in the schools and communities of the 7 implementation provinces i.e. Harare, Bulawayo, Mashonaland West, Manicaland, Masvingo, Mashonaland East and Midlands. In Harare and Bulawayo, eye screening will be conducted in both primary and secondary schools whilst in Mashonaland West, Manicaland, Masvingo, Mashonaland East and Midlands eye screening will be conducted in the communities in every district.
Methodology
The evaluation should be a predominantly desk research with qualitative interviews held with key informants where possible over the telephone. The consultant will be required to prepare detailed research methodology based on the project log-frame and expected outputs in partnership with Council for the Blind and the CBM Country Office.
Key deliverables
The consultant will be required to develop a detailed work-plan and evaluation tools which will be reviewed by Council for the Blind, CBM and MoHCC before use. The following documents will be required from the consultant once the work plan has been approved: inception report, draft evaluation report, power-point presentation of results and the final evaluation report at specified timeframes.
Time-frame
The evaluation is expected to be conducted in a period of 15 working days spread over 1 month.
Desired qualifications, skills and competencies
The consultant shall be expected to have the following skills and competencies:
Education: An advanced degree in Public Health or Development Studies.
Experience: A minimum of five years’ experience conducting research at National and International level and a proven record in conducting Situational Analysis as well as other relevant professional experience; Proven publication record (Attach at least two samples of published work in the application).
Competencies
Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal in English; Extensive knowledge and expertise on eye health programs; Solid methodological and research skills; Ability to deliver quality reports / analysis and results in line with established deadlines; Gender expertise and sensitivity to disability issues; Advanced level skills on Microsoft Applications (word, excel, power-point)
The consultant will be expected to abide by the terms and conditions of Zimbabwe Council for the Blind Child Safeguarding Policy and to ensure that Disabled People’s Organisations are consulted and/or involved in all stages of the evaluation.
