COMMUNICATIONS INTERN
Background
The internship will be for a minimum period of one (1) month and a maximum period of three (3) months. There is no expectation of full-time employment after the internship ends.
Duties and Responsibilities
• In collaboration with the Tripartite Communications Task Team, develop a draft annual communication plan for 2019,
• Update the design of the website, generate content (human interest and economic analysis) and upload key reports on issues relating to the world of work
• Identify low investment high impact communication campaigns to further the business agenda in Zimbabwe,
• Regularly monitor the media environment in the country, region and globally and compile a weekly report of opportunities and threats that may exist,
• Train secretariat and its members on the use of social media, website updates and use of handheld devises,
• Develop, maintain, and communicate regularly a calendar of events relating to the business agenda.
Required Skills and Experience
• Bachelors and/or master degree in Communication, Media, Information Systems or other relevant area.
• 1 Year experience in website development.
• Ability to curate social media accounts.
• Superior writing and editing skills in English

Job Summary
Reporting to the Team Leader, the Project Engineer will be responsible for providing technical guidance in the design, implementation, and certification of infrastructural projects.
Key duties and Responsibilities
• Undertakes detailed feasibility study and pre-check surveys in conjunction with relevant government departments to determine scope of work (including person days, food, workers)
• Generates Bill of Quantities (BoQs), financial budget and technical design for the project

Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant

Basic Function:
The M&E Assistant works under the direct supervision of the District Team Leader (DTL) and will be technically supported by the National M&E Officer. S/he will work to support the Nurse Tester(NT) in M&E related activities for FHI 360 Zimbabwe at district level. S/he collaborates closely with other colleagues at facility/district level to provide data management support.
Duties and responsibilities:
Provide assistance in M&E processes, data collection, surveys and data quality requirements at district level.
Support in the review and checking of data generated being in line with the ZHCT M&E reporting requirements.
Prepare, sort and check all patients’ records for verification and making sure that accurate data is being entered in the registers and DHIS2 database.
Establish entry priorities by maintaining understanding of what data needs to be entered first
Verify entered data by reviewing, correcting, changing or deleting entered information
Secure entered information by performing routine data backups as required, on database and tablets and ensuring total confidentiality of patient’s information.
Assisting NT’s in using project’s digital systems and application software
Check completed work for accuracy, liaise with supervisor for incomplete records and make any required changes as required.
Ensures a proper filing system for both hard and soft copies
Respond to information access and retrieval requests from authorized members
Check source documents against entered data to ensure data integrity at every stage.
Produce automated data entry and integration reports when requested.
Use data for District planning, programming and assessment of performance
Perform other duties as assigned.

Sound knowledge and experience regarding data management and well-developed computer skills.

Assistant Program Officer

The Determined, Resilient, Empowered, AIDS-free, Mentored, and Safe women (DREAMS) program in Zimbabwe is focused on reducing new HIV infections amongst adolescent girls and young women (AGYW). The DREAMS program is being implemented in six priority high HIV burden districts in Zimbabwe i.e. Bulawayo, Chipinge, Gweru, Mazowe, Makoni, and Mutare. The DREAMS Program core package of interventions consists of social asset building, social protection, family and caregiver skills building, community norms activities that are complemented by provision of youth friendly sexual and reproductive health services. FHI360’s primary role in the DREAMS Program is to deliver a comprehensive curriculum on HIV prevention, gender norms and community norms targeted at AGYW in school, out of school and their sexual partners at community level.
Position Summary:
The Assistant Program Officer (APO) reports to the District Program Officer (DPO) and is responsible for supporting the DPO in the planning, coordination and implementation of the DREAMS Project activities. The APO works closely with the DPO to ensure that project implementation is in line with the approved proposal, budget and work-plan. She/He is responsible for administrative support at the FHI360 District Office, ensuring that the necessary paperwork and approvals have been submitted to the Project Manager.
Duties and responsibilities:
Participates in designing Program, developing methodologies, work plans and budgets for the DREAMS Program
Drafts inception plans and other program documents and communication
Supports the coordination and management of the implementation of Project activities at district level, scheduling activities and monitoring the Project to make sure planned targets are achieved on time
Ensures agreed quality standards for the management and outputs of DREAMS Project are met
Works with the SIE team to implement the M&E action plan, making sure that M & E data for the Project is collected and MER reports are produced, as required
Works closely with the Finance team to monitor Project expenses and to ensure accurate
Project financial reporting Assists with drafting timely and professional
Project narrative reports and submits them to the DPO, as required
Contributes towards the development of Project IEC materials and messages, as appropriate
Manages partner relations by supporting the partners, responding to their enquiries/queries and ensuring that there is effective communication regarding Project activities
Arranges trainings for district staff or partners and assists in various capacity strengthening activities
Plans/facilitates/rapporteurs at Project meetings, dialogues and workshops.
Provides representation and/or participation of the organisation at various functions, including but not limited to workshops, dialogues, conferences and field visits
Supervises, mentors and supports District Facilitators as well as reviewing their performance and producing related reports
Performs other Project activities as may be assigned from time to time.

The main task of the intern will be to assist in the primary collection, entry, analysis and storage of data which enables the MEAL officer to generate real time information in line with the MEAL requirements of the OVC programme: Revise and format standardized data collection tools; Assist in creation of data collection training and guidance materials; Assist in the management of project information such as beneficiary data base and projects district level Indicator Performance Tracking Table; Participate in periodic data quality assessments; Participate in data analysis and drafting of related reports and/or presentations; Collaborating with field staff on hard copy and electronic registration of beneficiaries, administering surveys, conducting focus group discussions, and key informant interviews; Assist in documenting successes, challenges, lessons learned and good practices from program implementation
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
A Degree/Diploma in M&E, statistics, Social Work, Agriculture, Development studies or other relevant qualification. Post graduate certificates in M&E will be a distinct advantage; Certificate or Course in social science research methods, monitoring and evaluation, both quantitative and qualitative research methods will be an added advantage; Demonstrable understanding of monitoring and evaluation principles and practices; Knowledge of participatory approaches to data collection; Demonstrated practical knowledge and use of computer skills in MS office Statistical Packages (SPSS, Minitab, Epi Info and Nvivo); Ability to stick to multi task; Innovative and ability to incorporate the use of mobile technology in M&E

Program Intern

Program / Technical Intern – ZHCT (Harare)
This position will provide administrative support and assistance to the FHI360 Zimbabwe Chief of Party (COP) and Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) of the Zimbabwe HIV Treatment and Care Project (ZHCT).
Duties and responsibilities:
Provide administrative support to COP and DCOP focusing on organizing, maintaining calenders, ensuring prompt orderly communications, setting up meetings and assisting to prepare to participate at meetings and leadership attention to critical issues.
Develop office systems and practices to ensure the efficient and effective use of the COP and DCOP’s time.
Maintain close communication with all parts of the project to appropriately advise the COP and DCOP of important issues within the project.
Monitor and advise the COP and DCOP of issues of compliance with USAID contract and FHI360 policies and procedures.
Make travel arrangements for the COP and DCOP including requisition generation and acquittals.
Provide administrative support to technical team, logistics, procurements and track progress of procurement, delivery and distribution.
Maintain the ZHCT technical team calender for events, meetings including outside meetings.
Support the technical team to coordinate program activities, events, meetings and meetings management
Support editing, formatting of project documents and reports presentation etc
Support the technical team to document success stories, lesson learned and weekly bullets.
Ensure the project deliverables are uploaded on sharepoint.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Ability to work with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Quick learner of systems; able to quickly run with administrative processes in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Well-developed computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft office products.
Excellent written, oral, interpersonal and organization skills.
Qualifications and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Science/administration/Health sciences from a recognized university.
A minimum of 2-year relevant working experience.
Experience in office administration is an added advantage.
Experience with large complex organization is required, familiarity with international NGOs preferred.
Demonstrated success in multicultural environments is required.
