INTERNAL AUDIT SECTION
Internal Audit Assistant (X 1)
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor of Accountancy Honours Degree or equivalent, and
• Full ACCA, CIS or equivalent qualification.
• As least two (2) years internal auditing experience a MUST

Zimbabwe Council for the Blind, through funding from Christian Blind Mission and in line with the National Eye Health Strategy is implementing a ‘Peek Zimbabwe Project’ in selected provinces of Zimbabwe. Peek helps to identify people with visual impairment using evidence-based solutions, including apps and carefully designed workflows to provide methodologies, training and tools to create connected health systems. The solutions help increase the quantity and quality of eye health services, providing guaranteed treatment and real time reporting.
The organisation seeks a qualified candidate who will work directly with and report to the Council for the Blind Optometrist and is passionate about Eye Health, community health, and/or mHealth (mobile health) to coordinate the day-to-day overall management of the project, its partners and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Coordinating project activities in liaison with relevant stakeholders; Provide oversight, leadership and motivation for the PEEK Project Team; Ensuring management of data generated by the project in line with national and project guidelines; Sensitizing project stakeholders on the PEEK Technology; Ensuring timely and effective monitoring of the project; Facilitate the evaluation of the programme according to donor guidelines and best practices; Organize learning events and platforms between the PEEK Zimbabwe Project and other countries implementing the PEEK project and ensure documentation of lessons; Ensure that PEEK project planning, implementation and evaluation processes are inclusive and that learning is shared with relevant internal and external stakeholders and used in subsequent planning of the project and organizational strategies; Guide the conducting of project outreach activities in collaboration with other ongoing programmes in targeted provinces; Ensure that screening teams are adequately resourced to guarantee successful school and community screening activities; Facilitate the cascading of training on Peek solutions in collaboration with the PEEK Zimbabwe Implementation Team; Coordinate the provision of technical support to the project team; Monitor the project budget to ensure spending is in line with approved resources; Review project financial reports and ensure that they accurately reflect project expenses; Develop and submit project narrative, statistical and financial reports and stories timely.
Qualifications
Degree in Public Health and Administration, Degree in Nursing (Ophthalmic) or Equivalent; Diploma in Community Eye Health is an added advantage; At least three years of relevant experience
Desired skills and competencies
Self-development and initiative taking; Strong written communication, interpersonal and coordination skills, with proven ability to be flexible and team oriented; A sound understanding of Monitoring and Evaluation; Proven ability to efficiently and effectively handle multiple tasks at the same time; Confident using mobile technology; previous experience in mHealth initiatives and/or solutions an advantage; Ability to manage and engage stakeholders at different levels is essential; Computer literacy with a high degree of proficiency and productivity working with databases

Scope
The consultant will be responsible for identification and engagement of relevant stakeholders to participate in consortium led value chains including seed companies, processors and markets. The role will include training, coaching and/or mentoring of selected Community Based Organisations/SMEs/Agro-dealers to develop own marketing strategy thereby assisting the organisations to plan ahead through the setting of appropriate goals and objectives. The work will consider all marketing factors along identified value chains, with a view to capacitate SMEs to brand and package products better. The Consultant will focus specifically on Sizimele value chains, with a priority focus on agriculture SMEs
Tasks
Analysis will include, but is not limited to, the following: Research on value chains and map the current state of the value chains in Sizimele operations districts (Insiza, Matobo & Lupane ) - to develop an in-depth understanding of through desktop research, and stakeholder engagement; Develop an action plan for priority value chain development in the ZRBF Program;
Skills required
Demonstrated competences and experience in carrying out similar projects; A relevant degree or equivalent in Marketing, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Development; Experience in working with smallholder farmers/agro-dealers is an added advantage; Strong analytical capabilities and proven planning and organization skills
Excellent presentation skills
Impact
The work will provide SIZIMELE clients with the necessary business insights to scale their business, specifically in relation to improving the smallholder business models, and in turn the lives and livelihoods of the farmers they work with.
Fees & expenses
The remuneration will be in accordance with the experience of the consultant for a maximum period of 5 months, starting 1 April 2018.
