Background The work will involve measurement of executed construction works and valuating claims made by the sub-contractors. The site quantity surveyor will also assist in the production of bills of quantities and material schedules for ongoing projects.
Duties and Responsibilities 
Under the direct supervision of the Site Manager, the site quantity surveyor will work closely with the other site personnel/team to undertake the following tasks: • Measurement of executed construction works and valuating the sub-contractor's claims; • Assist in providing quality control and site reports of ongoing projects; • Keep track of variations and costs of ongoing projects; • Produce bills of quantities and material schedules; • Assist in organising weekly site meetings; • Any other project related tasks as requested.

Required Skills and Experience
Tertiary qualification in quantity surveying is essential Candidates are expected to have previous work experience at least one (1) year in a similar environment, experience in the following areas is desired:
• Experience in preparation of bills of quantities, valuations and material schedules; • Demonstrated experience in supervision of construction works; • Computer proficiency in all MS office packages
Language Requirements: • Conversant with oral and written English.

Position overview
This position is for assisting the ZRBF field offices in project implementation, data entry and systemic filing in both the electronic and manual files.
Responsibilities
Information documentation, compilation and filing; Maintain an updated recording system; Assist the field team with processing papers for procurement, payment and reporting; Keep files in a safe orderly fashion; Attend strategic meetings and take minutes; Take part in report writing; Issuing waybills when property, assets, and materials are moved from one office to another; To provide weekly and monthly updates; Assist field team in organising workshops and trainings; Primary compilation of reports from Community Based Volunteers; Assist consortium field team members in any activities they may need him/her
Required qualifications
Degree or Diploma in Agriculture, rural development, any social sciences or Business Studies
Job requirements

Policy Research Consultant (International Public Finance): The African Forum and Network on Debt and Development (AFRODAD)

The African Forum and Network on Debt and Development (AFRODAD) was created 20 years ago as a pan African platform and organisation for lobbying and advocating for debt cancellation and addressing other debt related issues in Africa. Over the next five years, AFRODAD will be working with others to address the problems of debt and development in the following thematic areas on the continent: Debt Management, International Public Finance and Domestic Resource Mobilisation.
The successful candidate would be required to undertake duties as set out below:
Key responsibilities
Policy analysis and research
Coordinate research and documentation in the relevant thematic area of International Public Finance; Produce Policy Briefs, Discussion Papers, Occasional/Working Papers, Position Papers on the above mentioned thematic area in Africa in order to establish evidence-based dialogues on best practices with stakeholders; Contribute to AFRODAD publications (including the bi-annual issues paper, AFRODAD newsletters, blogs, news articles and policy briefs); Contribute to relevant thematic policy debates and discussions ensuring AFRODAD has increasing policy influence.
Programme planning, coordination and reporting
Design and develop annual work plans for the programme to ensure delivery of all advocacy and research themes within the required timeframe; Contribute to the organization of international, regional and national events, and global movement and constituency building work; Manage contracts with consultants and other service supplier’s within your programme; Work with the finance staff to ensure programme financial information is up to date, variances are identified and recommendations for action made; Produce regular programme reports as per the work plan; Coordinate overall thematic programme to ensure key performance indicators are met and programme impact is in line with AFRODAD strategy
Supporting Information and communications needs
Work closely with communications team to share information on AFRODAD’s Strategic themes and programme impact; Support sharing of information between AFRODAD secretariat and partners across Africa; Securing project/programme funding; Identify and track emerging funding opportunities through AFRODAD funding strategy and action plan; Contribute to design and development of funding proposals
Other accountabilities
Support AFRODAD colleagues in delivering the organizations collective objectives, including assisting in events and initiatives that fall outside the direct responsibilities of this post; Represent AFRODAD at meetings, functions and events, some of which may occur outside normal office hours and may involve long-distance travel; Coordinate activities of Programme Interns; Perform any other reasonable duties and tasks as requested by the Head of Programmes
Essential skills
Proven academic background and publishing. Minimum of a Masters Degree in economics or any social science; Political change expert able to identify and define specific but transformative policy changes, and work out who and how and to influence to deliver them; Excellent communicator in English, with highly developed and convincing presentational skills, allied to a first class ability to write for a variety of audiences; Organised and efficient
Essential experience and knowledge
Experience in creating policy change working with civil society organisations, including developing and implementing advocacy or campaigns strategies, working to influence the media, other CSOs, officials, politicians and other targets; Experience in writing articles, reports, briefings, that have reached a wide variety of audiences; Understanding of key debates and issues in development finance

A local human rights NGO is looking to fill the position of Bookkeeper/Accountant. Reporting to the Finance Director, the individual will be responsible for ensuring that day-to-day accounting operations and financial management functions are performed in accordance with donor and organisational policies and procedures.
Accounting responsibilities
Recording day to day accounting transactions for programs funded by 6 or more different funders of various sizes – each funder has its own bank accounts and set of books; Preparing monthly bank and salary reconciliations for Finance Director to review; Processing required month end journals; Overseeing preparation of VAT calculations and other tax related returns; Producing a balanced monthly TB for each funder and the institution as a whole; Participating in the review and analysis of reports generated from the SAGE 300 system for internal and external reporting; Following up on anomalies and ensuring errors are corrected by responsible parties
Administrative responsibilities
Providing support to the Finance Director; Representing Finance Department in weekly Heads of Department meetings; Ensuring that all manual files (current and archived) are complete and in maintained in chronological order for current and future reference purposes; Providing leadership and guidance to the Cashier and the Accounts Clerk in their daily functions; Responding to queries raised internally and externally by third parties; Key contact for suppliers and internal logistical requirements e.g. cash withdrawals from bank; Key contact for external auditors during their fieldwork.
Required qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in Accounting or Finance; 8+ years’ experience in a similar bookkeeping/accounting role; NGO experience, particularly - USAID, DFID, SIDA; Experience with SAGE 300 (a big plus); Audit background highly desirable; Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook a must
